I've read many historical sources where in many early Christian circles (and even a few today), Eve gets most of the blame for the fall of man due to being tempted by the serpent.

I think this is ridiculous because its like blaming a young child for allowing himself to be lured in and kidnapped by a child predator. Its not like Eve had ever encountered anyone lying to her before, so she had no reason not to believe the Serpent's lies. And since this was before the beginning of Original Sin, she was probably too innocent to know that getting advice from a talking snake is not the best of ideas. Also, where the heck was Adam this whole time? Was there anywhere in the Bible where Adam tried to prevent Eve from eating the fruit of knowledge? He probably didn't have to convince her, just overpower her and prevent her from eating the fruit since biologically he would physically be slightly stronger than she is.

Additionally, if Eve was created to be weak of mind and fragile in spirit as many early Christian male writers claimed her and most women to be, then it's really not her fault since God created her to be that way. Although this raises a whole other slew of problems when one wonders why God, being the all perfect being that he is, would go out of his way to create something that could be so easily tempted into Sin and then punish them when they actually do it.
