Aboard his ship, an Inquisitor stood frustrated. The Inquisitor was an old man, balding with a bionic eye and a limp in his left leg. His name was High Inquisitor Yorick, and he had requested a team of Astartes for a particular series of missions. What he got instead, was a few of the requested Astartes, and two tag along humans. Sighing, he decided to call them to his meeting room before they left the hive world they were on. "All personnel from Inquisitorial Team 6 report to squad bay 7" he called into the vox after whispering a small blessing to the omnissiah.

The flesh is weak!

Corporal Sarah Watanabe was nervous, no, that was a gross understatement. Corporal Watanabe was fucking terrified of this mission. She was just an ordinary Guardsman who was randomly selected to this mysterious assignment, supposedly with elite Astartes and Inquisitors. The poor woman was outclassed greatly, and very well could be facing death soon. She considered herself lucky to survive such mundane battles against Chaos heretics and Xenos, but now she was on an elite mission that she had no training for.

Sarah prayed to the Emperor for guidance, protection, and peace of mind through this mission. And as the voice commanded all personnel to report to the Squad Bay 7, she grabbed her equipment and headed that way.

Menoth knelt, his head bowed as he whispered a prayer to the man-The God who guided his blades, Tue emporer of man. He stood, a giant even among ultramarines and strode forth, ready to cleanse the universe of the blasphemous filth, be it Ork, Nekron or the Tyrranids. He was ready.

Good to be back

As Sarah entered the bay, she saw an old bald Inquisitor, clearly the commander of the team. Saluting the man, she said "Corporal Sarah Watanabe, Imperial Guard, reporting for duty, Your Grace."

Soon, the short bespectacled Guardswoman waited for the rest of the team to join her.

As the Ultramarine entered the bay, he saluted, before joining the human, he was almost shaking, ready to slaughter the unclean.

Good to be back

The inquisitor nodded," at ease, guardsmen, your new comrades should be here soon." He saluted the Ultramarine, glad to have an astartes onboard

• With his helmet under his arm and his bolter strapped to his side, Jarvan Ironfoundersson strode into the bay, "This is the meeting room for squad 6, correct?" He asked in a monotone voice. Getting a nod in return he simply chose to stand in the room a few feet from the guardsman. He nodded at his ultramarine brother.

After performing the last of his boltgun cleaning rituals, Sternguard Veteran Adolphus Feneriks of the Red Scorpions chapter; rises from the reinforced stool he was seated at before exiting his room to report to the Ordo Xeno inquisitor that he is to serve with the same zeal and loyalty as his own chapter master. As Adolphus left, his room could be seen and was absolutely packed with all sorts of weapons parts, ammunition and cleaning supplies and yet containing only a cot, a moderately sized table and the same reinforced stool for the Marine to use.

Sarah was soon taken over by a sense of awe. She was in the presence of a fabled Ultramarine. The true heroes of the Imperium, the elite of the Astartes, carrying out the Emperor's will against the Xenos and forces of Chaos. It took a lot of willpower to keep from squeeing and glomping the impressive Space Marine, but she did resist such an urge and decided to politely and properly salute the Ultramarine instead.

"Forgive my improperness, but allow me to introduce myself. Corporal Sarah Watanabe, Cadian Regiment. It is an honor to meet you." she said to the Ultramarine.

And soon, more Astartes entered the bay.

Menoth turned, he stood nine feet tall, with two massive Relic Blade Greatswords, He smiled, glad to see sonlmeone going out in the name of the Emporer to die. "You are forgiven. May The Emporer watch over us."

Good to be back

Several seconds after the Techmarine had entered Squad bay 7, a Marine clad in all black Power Armor-save for his right pauldron; which had a gray circle painted on it and inside of the circle: a red scorpion. Looking towards the two marines and the guardswoman, the Marine seemingly shrugs before striding towards the inquisitor and giving him a short bow and then speaking in a surprisingly smooth and gentle tone despite the Vox caster on his helmet distorting his voice.

"Adolphus Feneriks, Sternguard of the Red Scorpions chapter at your beck and call."

"Welcome, I am honored by the presence of such a loyal chapter's marine in my team. Unlike some chapters of astartes," the inquisitor turned a steely eye on the augmented marine with a silver jaw, "the Red Scorpions have never given the inquisition a difficult time."

Sarah raised her hand and asked the inquisitor "Your Grace, may I ask a question? What is our mission and how shall we enact the Emperor's Will today? I am glad to die for the Emperor and fight the forces of Chaos and the horrible Xeno scum!"

She hoped deep down she could live to fight another day, but if she had to die, she could take solace that it would be for the good of the Emperor.

"A very good question, young guardsman, it does my heart good to see the Emperor's Will in you." The old inquisitor sighed, "you have a very important mission, but unfortunately the whole team needs to be present to hear it, I hate repeating myself."

"Sorry, I got over-excited, Your Grace." said the Guardswoman as she sighed. She hoped to see the rest of the team soon and fight the Good Fight!

Memory beamed, the sight of someone so willing to die in the holy name made him proud.

Good to be back

"Lovely," Jarvan muttered to himself, "and who exactly will be leading this team, Inquisitor?" The Inquisitor grinned, displaying a mouth full of metal teeth, "all in good time, son of the Iron Handed one, all in good time."

Adolphus wasn't blind to the scathing insult the Inquisitor had made when he spoke as he gave the Iron Hands Techmarine to his right a quick glare, while he did think that the Iron Hands were misguided in their belief that the path to perfection was through machinery and quite ignorant due to them not understanding that they are already as perfect as can be... Well, not as perfect as the Astartes of the Red Scorpions but close enough. However, they were still upstanding servants of the Emperor and held the same amount of hate and scorn for his enemies... But since he was to treat the Inquisitor as he were his own Chapter Master, Adolphus held his tongue about the Inquisitor's distasteful insult.

"Your compliments humble me and my chapter Milord."

With the talk of Xenos, things became more clear to Sarah. The young corporal turned to the Techpriest and said "So, it seems we are fighting Xenos? Ah, I have encountered Orks and a few Dark Eldar before. Xenos are nasty and an affront to the Emperor. They are blasphemous heresy incarnate and in addition to the affront to the Emperor that they are, I have a score to settle with the Orks and Dark Eldar who have killed my fellow Guardsmen, some of whom were close friends of mine. May the Emperor guide my hand in battle against the vile Xeno scum!"

Sarah made it clear that she would gladly do to the Xenos what they did to her brothers-in-arms.

Menoth shook his head, "You will find Orks to be some of the least Blasphemous of the Xenos."

As Sarah spoke of Dark Eldar, a heavy power-armored hand came down on her shoulder; but it landed with such gentleness and care that it was impossible for the appendage to do any form of harm. Before she could speak out, the voice of Adolphus of the Red Scorpions came first. But unlike the smooth and respectful tone he gave the Inquisitor, he spoke in a cold and very stern manner; sounding just like a Commissar that preferred to let his bolt pistol do most of his talking.

"When we meet the Dark Eldar... I claim first blood."

Sarah said to the Marine "Ah, I see. I have heard the horror stories of the Tyranids, Tau, and Necrons, but never personally encountered them. As terrible as Orks are, Dark Eldar are twenty times worse. I've never been wounded by an Ork, most likely due to the Emperor's mercy, but I have been wounded by Dark Eldar, and was lucky enough to keep my limbs."

Sarah turned to Adolphus and said "Very well, when we encounter Dark Eldar, I will gladly let you claim first blood. I shall be right behind you."

"And such humbleness from the Emperor's finest warms mine, astartes." The inquisitor replied, finally, the old man was fed up with waiting. "I can brief the rest of the team when they get here. Seeing as you're here, I'll leave you with your team leader to learn your mission." The old man held out a servo skull to the group, "take this, and play the message once the rest of the team shows up, I have to prep one of my guest." The inquisitor then took his leave.

• "Hmmm, nice design, from the Mordor forge world I believe," the techmarine held the skull in his hands, admiring its craftsmanship.

Menoth frowned, "Fools. Our brethren, who have turned their backs on us, The damnable Marines who devote their being to the depravities of the Chaos Gods...Those, are the most blasphemous."

Adolphus gave Sarah a short nod before turning to the Ultramarine, his voice suddenly turning into a smooth and personable tone.

"You speak the truth Son of Guilliman, Orks only blaspheme unknowingly due to their ignorance and barbarism. When me and my Brothers shoot them by the hundreds, it almost feels as if we were putting them out of their misery since they have never-and will never know the light of the Emperor."

And then Adolphus' voice grows cold again as he begins to speak of the Dark Eldar, but this time; his coldness barely hided a burning fury and hatred behind his voice.

"As horrible and depraved the Traitors are, some of them at least give the mercy of a quick death; but not the Dark Eldar..."
