I am a humongous fan of Pokemon and would love there to be a live action movie based mainly on the manga Specials, although I know there are Pokemon that would be very hard to adapt to a realistic medium, including Wobuffet, Sunkern, Mr. Mime, and Jinx (the latter two due to Uncanny Valley).

On the other hand, I don't want the Pokemon to look and act too realistic such as this, with the sizes compared to real animals rather than the game counterparts, as well as close equivalents (for example, having Lugia and Togepi's evolutions look more like birds rather than their own unique creatures)

I also think that trying to make anything Darker and Edgier for its own sake shouldn't be used in Pokemon, like this more vicious rendition ofDratini, which hunts and eats other Pokemon. Additionally, my feelings for the fan-made trailer "Pokemon Apocalypse" is the same I had for the 2012 version of the Amazing Spiderman when compared to the ones directed by Sam Raimi. Dark and over excessive angst does not always make for good entertainment, especially if the original source material had plenty of mature moments hidden within its cute, quirky background.

So those are my personal preferences for a movie based on the most successful role playing game series. What are your personal ideas for a live action Pokemon movie?

Honestly? Don't make it.
It not something that translates to reality very well.
You'd lose a lot in the change.

Not terribly interested in a live action movie. What I'd like to see is a full 3D game. Not like X and Y, but a sandbox, more in line with your Elder Scrollses and Fallouts. A fresh start, not too beholden to past canon, but not Darker and Edgier necessarily, just better thought out and explained, as to such things as why Pokemon trainers start so young, and why Pokemon allow themselves to be trained at all. That sort of thing.

If they made a live action pokemon movie, a cool idea would be to turn the pokemon into mutated humans, and have them all fighting each other in an arena. The main plot would be about them finding a portal to the real pokemon world, and the Pokemans (my unofficial name for Alt Pokemon) and the Pokemon help each other in a cute but epic fight against the arena leader, and the team rockets. Jesse, James and Meowth would have been retired, as this takes place in a future where Ash is 25. The pokemon probably do not age. I hope if they make a pokemon movie, they animate the pokemon in stop motion.

The movie would probably be called Pokemon Universe, since it revolves around an alternate one. smile

I'd love to see just a straight story of a trainer making his/her way to the Pokemon League, and maybe fightng off Team Rocket along the way. The hook would be all the epic, super expensive CGI Pokemon battles that go on. It'd be amazing to look at, especially a good gym battle or a Legendary Encounter. All the music would be orchestrated or remixed game music.
