Can someone give me a rundown on all the number bosses? I never saw the post where they all got names.

Here. (NSFW due to comments) If you mean their stages + boss, that's going to take a while to find since they're separate but some of them are posted here in some pages back.

Thanks a bunch, though you should probably label that as nsfw thanks to one of the commenters.

It's already mid April and we still lack a release date. Anyone worried it'll be delayed?

Shovel Knight is going to all non-Nintendo platforms next week, so my best guess for a Mighty release date is April 28. May 5 and 12 could also be possibilities. May 19 might be bad, since that's the same day as The Witcher 3's release date (barring any 13th hour delays)...

It's supposed to come out this month though.

It is? Everywhere I see just has Q2 2015 listed, so I figured it was coming out in June.

Oh, it does say the plan is an April 2015 release on the main website.

@Moth Oh man, I'm so sorry. I don't even go to the comments. Sorry about that, I will be careful next time.

i like Call's voice. she sounded a lot more... robotic than i was expecting, though.

i got an honest chuckle out of the "sleep is overrated" line.

There's a week left of April and still no release date. I'm calling it now that the game has been delayed.

If we get lucky, it might come out at the end of April.

The update on the Play Station blog didn't mention Mighty No. 9 at all, so it's not going to make its planned April release date. The MN 9 Twitter hasn't posted anything in relation to a release date, and it only seems to update about once a week.

might have something to do with the nearly 6k refund from one of the backers

not too clear on the details, but the guy screencapped his refund and posted it on twitter, boasting about it on the same day the community manager, dina was fired.

supposedly she was fired for telling yet another person to boycott the game, but given the timing and how unlikely it seems that she'd be fired for doing something she's done many a time in the past with no consequences (in addition to cutting backers off from one of their back rewards), i think its fairly likely the refund played a part. it almost certainly isnt the only refund she's been the cause of, but its most certainly the most expensive.

[up]A lot of this talk about Dina and her time on MN 9 was weird as is, but why would she want people to boycott MN 9?

-shrug-

as far as i can tell, she's possessive and just doesnt want the "wrong" people buying a game she contributed to. the wrong people generally being people who disagree with her, but also GG.

she continued to tell people not to buy the game after being fired/having quit/being forced to resign or whatever the real story regarding her employment was.

Part of the reason for her termination was that she angered several big backers of the Kickstarter, who had their banks issue chargebacks on their, uh, investments, as a manner of withdrawing support.

Huh. That really turned into something nasty. Weird that all of this happened given that she was just supposed to be a glorified go-between for the website crew and the game crew. People on both sides were nasty as hell for no good reason.

I have no idea what happened other than what you just wrote, but it sounds kinda like she was saying "well, if you have a problem with it/me, then don't buy it!" Which is a fairly standard defensive response. Maybe not the best advertising though.

I only know how it started. Way back when the forums first opened, they announced her position. Obsessive fans, being what they are, dredged up twitter comments (since deleted) she made basically saying she hadn't played any classic Mega Man games until a few months prior. She was declared "not a true fan" and people started demanding her resignation. This was exasperated when people pulled out art and comments sg made while the kickstarter was running. She drew a tamales version of Beck and basically said she'd like a female character to be playable at some point. This was translated by her detractors into meaning that she was actively lobbying the dev team to make Beck transgender. There were more demands for her resignation and the more vitriolic backers started the idea of the credit card thing where their payment defaulted and stopped contributing to the kickstarter.

The forums were awful. The worst kinds of people seemed to be the most active and the spread of misinformation was disgusting. About the time I stopped checking the forums (shortly after the Call vote), people were getting banned for their awful behavior, and things were just getting worse. Hell, some people were being talked up as martyrs.

The lady was hired because A) she could speak and write in both Japanese and English and B) she was local to the part of Tokyo(or whatever city where development was). I remember something along the lines of her baving already met most of the team just from being in the same area.

If she was fired for ill-percieved faults, that is unfortunate, because she at least started out acting well and professionally. If she ended up deserving it, that is equally unfortunate for the same reasons.

That's not to say she was perfect. The forums catching fire and staying that way probably could have been handled better.
