Needing some help: Final level - there are these glowing ball/orbs that turn into platforms when shot but when destroyed can and most likely will respawn as the glowing ball/orbs you saw previously which can hurt you. There is this one part over a bottomless pit with four in a column above it right before a vertically moving platform. What is a reliable way of getting around this obstacle? The orbs keep coming back way too fast to even make a clear path through the area.

The secret of the platform orb things is they only respawn when you're not close to them.

"One section of Dynatron's level has a seemingly impassable turbine that you need to cross under, with a prompt telling you to use the crouch dash. The trouble is the game doesn't explain how to use the crouch dash, it was never required in any other level, and using it at the wrong distance will kill Beck anyway as he straightens up. The wonky hit box makes it worse, as Beck has to practically on top if the turbine for the crouch dash to work properly."

I've seen that used as an example of bad game design XD

[up][up] Seriously? It seems like they respawn regardless of my distance but I'll keep a better eye on my location in relation to them next time I attempt this God forsaken level. lol

I can't argue there.

For a game based on dashing about at great speed, having to position a low dash so you don't get insta-killed slows things down too much with a movie that's not really necessary elsewhere.

I've seen Youtube videos about how to get past that specific part and comments about losing every life there.

I can do it nearly every time now but I have to inch forward as close to the turbine as I can.

Its kind of bullshit that they didn't change that section. It was in the demo so surely everyone complained about it.

Whats the point of giving out a demo if you're not going to listen to feedback?

Alas.

The point is Inafune screwed up again, and this needs to be held against him forever.

Well, no. The point is that he's clearly still got things to learn for the next time.

The problem is, he's gonna have to find a way to earn back all the good will he's lost before he even thinks of making a sequel again. And that's gonna be a hard thing.

The internet never forgets.

"A relatively minor issue that got me killed several times while playing is that if you jump and land with forward momentum, if you are holding forward for even a fraction of a second when you land and then let go, Beck will move forward by about one Beck-width while he lands and tries to go directly into a run. This can be stopped by pressing in the opposite direction but the forward movement got me thrown down pits on more than one occasion."

No.

I don't own a dog.

Well, if one thing comes out of this, it's that Mighty No 9 2 (or whatever it's gonna be called) will fix all the little problems this game has.

I'm almost done with the Blind/Buster Only/No Death run:

Awesome Playlist

However, I am having trouble with the second form of the final boss. I can knock down the flower down to its final 'rung' but it moves a bit too fast for me to get enough hits in before it smacks into me. I don't want to give up just yet on the buster only part of the challenge but its getting really frustrating. All other attacks are manageable, but its like I'm just simply not fast enough mashing the fire button in time to have the final section turn purple so I can dash through and actually get some hits on it.

Trinity's second phrase is the bane of all buster runs. I have yet to see a Ray claw attack-only run, thought that will be near impossible on Trinity's second phrase because of her deteriorating health and Trinity crashing into Ray because how close-range Ray needs to be.

On another note: Does Ray need '"The Cracker" trope on her character page? Her data get powers, how she does her debut by hacking from Cherry Dyn computers, and her "bows" are actually extensions for plugging into ports to hack as explained by the official site... Tried to add that but it got deleted. I can how since she only uses it to find Dr. White and nothing else but I confused to add it back with more explanation or not.

Not helping because I'm too cheap to buy the game and no one's uploaded a "cutscene-only playthrough" as far as I know, just wanted to share the Youtube gospel:

Everyone, if you go into the game expecting to hate the game, you're going to hate it. If you wear all the fiascos, delays, and negativity on your sleeve, you're going to have a poor experience. If you look beyond the mismanagement and absorb (pun kinda intended) the game in what it intends to do, you'll see that it's an honest to goodness action-platformer that closely captures the essence of the Blue Bomber. It's no substitute, but for what Mighty No.9 is, it is in earnest.

Please try to enjoy the game, guys. It's not perfect, and there were a lot of bumps along the long and winding road to release, but I think Comcept achieved what they set out to do. We should appreciate their efforts.

I'm sorry but no (your kindness needs to be appreciated) but the shit comcept had pulled can't be excuse no matter what and I believe as a non backer that people who supported this should receive their end of the deal but instead got screwed over by an ios game instead of a true successor to megaman.

Mighty No. 9 was never intended to be a true successor to Mega Man. Mighty No.9 was the best Keiji Inafune could do in lieu of the Mega Man IP. At best, Mighty No.9 was purely inspired by it and "filled the hole". As for the campaign, what exactly didn't the backers (myself being one of them) receive? Although not smoothly as intended, everyone is receiving precisely what they pledged. There was no guarantee the game would turn out looking or playing any specific way. There can be various pivots during a game's development, and if this disappointed people (which it did), then it is what it is. It doesn't mean the game itself is garbage, it just means that some people weren't satisfied with it, which is unfortunate. I want the Mega Man franchise to continue just as much as anyone, but I am going to adopt and enjoy Mighty No.9 for what it tries to do in the meantime.

I'd only argue that it's hard not to wear the shitstorm on your sleeve if you pledged a lot of money toward it. Those people deserve to be angry. If I'd pledged money toward a live-action Dragonball project, and that project turned out to be Dragonball Evolution, well, there'd be anger.

Mighty No. 9 was never intended to be a true successor to Mega Man.

And boy did I miss the objective of this game. There is an article somewhere with Inafune claiming that Beck could beat Mega Man in a fight. I kind of want Death Battle to actually animate that, or One Minute Melee. Someone should write a fic about it.

I do agree that going in angry instead of judging the game on it's own merits is not a good idea.

I'd say that MN 9 started out as Megaman, but grew as an idea along the way. Now, hopefully Comcept can deal with the loss enough to move on from it as a company. And learn from the experience, regardless of whether they make a sequel.

In retrospect it would appear their enthusiasm for the project is what got them into trouble since they made so many promises, and then ran into what seems to be not unexpected troubles when it comes to making games.
