Huh. None of it seems like the hoped for "OMG So Politically Incorrect!!1" stuff. Merely some footage of the set and makeup, and some shots of Jerry clowning around.

If Life Is Beautiful can be released and get oscar kudos, I don't see any real reason why Hollywood wouldn't finally release this dreck.

[up]a. It’s not really a Hollywood production and...

b. The screenwriter doesn’t want it released. Apparently, she has the legal rights to block it.

Honestly, there's also some significant differences that likely block this being a viable production. Guido was a nice guy who's genuinely funny. Jerry Lewis's character was written as a bitter drunk who's pretty lousy at his job. Guido tries to protect his son and sacrifices himself to do so. Jerry Lewis's character collaborates with the Nazis to keep the kids from causing trouble and only seems to show regret at the end when he decides to walk into the gas chamber with them. Frankly, the way they've described it, I don't think I'd be able to watch it to the end with such an unsympathetic protagonist with so few admirable character traits.
