Some of you may know of the Phoenix Wright Musical Project. Well, some time ago, a group of fans decided to do an offshoot project. The plan is similar - to do a fan-made musical about the game Ghost Trick. Instead of it being an animated movie though, most of the emphasis will be on the voice acting and singing. A series of still images will be used to give an idea of what's happening visually.

Progress can be followed here, and anyone who wants to join can. Because things are still in the early stages of production, anyone who wants to lend a hand is welcome to. As of right now, the script is being buffed and the music is being worked on. Auditions have yet to be held, but they should start not long after a dent is put in the music.

Bump for more info:

At this point, our script is done, the music is being written, and we are working towards getting things set up for auditions. Currently though, there's one part of the project we're looking to focus on, and we need help with it.

Basically, we want to set up beta recordings of the songs, as the music is made available. These would not be the final versions, polished and done by the selected voice actors, but rough first drafts so that when people do audition, they'll have a basic idea of what the songs are supposed to sound like.

Unfortunately, we're a bit shorthanded by way of people to do such singing, particularly for the male characters. So that is why we're asking you, fair members of this board, to help out. If any of you love to sing, even just for fun, come on over and lend a hand! If you're interested in auditioning for a part, you still are welcome to do so! If you don't want to audition, you can still do this without the pressure of getting it 100% perfect.

You can find information about the beta recordings and what needs done for them at this thread, here, at our forums. Just create an account (it's free!) and post any questions or comments you may have.

And for anyone interested in auditioning, feel free to stick around the forums as well! We should be starting soon, for certain characters, and more will be opening all the time!

Questions? Ask 'em here, PM me, or ask them at the forums. :) Happy singing!

Bump for info update:

For those interested in what the beta recordings are meant to be, we have finished our first one! Panic Dance, a conversation between two strange police officers, has had its beta recording finished!

Now this sounds like an interesting project! I look forward to seeing how the game's interesting narrative path is portrayed in this format.

I have a message from another time...

Huh, never heard of either project before, but I have to say this is cool! Hope casting will be good, I checked few examples of Phoenix Wright one and I think its pretty fine 'cept for Von Karma isn't deep enough and judge sounds too young

Thanks, everyone! :D

@ Enlong, that's actually the reason we have visuals at all, instead of just having it be a radio drama. Because of how some parts have the same character in past and present form talking, it's tricky to keep things from being confusing. As for keeping the pace steady, each trip to the past means that the same scene plays twice (once as Sissel watches it happen, and once as he averts it). To keep things from getting dull, we generally have one of those two times be spoken, and have the other done in song.

@ Spooky Mask, I actually heard those songs before I even played the first Ace Attorney game! XD I ended up having a good idea of how to beat the first trial just by remembering how the Objection song whent.
