Yeah, but before you ask three shots in one round from one revolver cannon count as one attack. So basically it can trigger twice a turn.

And that applies to each attack Wild Ronin makes, but only to Wild Ronin's attacks, I presume.

We don't really want anyone shooting at us in melee, so

Specifically have the Ninja Attack Drones attack the last bauble while everything else attacks Gororon.

What if we called 'em baubletrons or baublemobiles instead? Or is that too much of a mouthful?

There's actually a part of me that wants to call em 'Pinballs', except I don't think they're round and shiny enough for the name to work.

As for the name of the ships, baubles, bubbles, and pinballs all sound good to me. Although maybe we should think of a Japanese word to refer to them by, in keeping with the theme of "Kaiju."

Eh, Kaiju have a mix of names anyway. You got stuff like Onibaba, Knifehead, Slattern, Otachi, Karloff, Scunner.

Oh, I don't mean the names of individual Kaiju. I mean the word "Kaiju." Since it's Japanese and all.

'Kaiju' is basically the Japanese word for Monster, right?

So what do the various name suggestions translate to in Japanese?

"Great beast," according to the movie.

Online translator says:

• bubble = suihou, baburu, awa
• pinball ~ pachinko
• bauble is too uncommon to translate.

"Guys, a squad of pachinko approaching our six!"
"NO MY CRIPPLING GAMBLING ADDICTION"

Guys lets kill these S.E.E.L.s!

Wild Ronin swing her left arm in again (5) but again barely manages to whiff the monstrosity. At a loss the Jaeger's right leg shoots up (7) but is blocked by two Kaiju palms. The hydraulics are not meant for this kind of motion.

Practically grinning, Gororon throws its fists forward again (6) and catches Wild Ronin with four consecutive blows (6,4,4,6) that shatter armor across the legs. Two fists slam into the exposed right arm, damaging the frame behind it.

Meanwhile the two squads of Ninja attack drones (8,4) finish off the last alien ship. As the ground corps repositions itself for a firing line, hesitant to fire into the melee.

• Wild ronin takes 8 damage to legs!
• Wild ronin takes 6 damage to the frame!
• Skies clear!

Fire goddammit!

If they can't hit the right 100 meter sized monster they need their eyes to be checked.

Just aim from the sides so if a shot misses the massive target area it doesn't put Wild Ronin in line of fire.

This is going terribly. We don't have any ammo left do we?

Wild Ronin doesn't. I really expected you guys to have at least one shoulder-mounted cannon by now.

This'll probably be the first time the melee-fire rules come into play. Basically, Wild Ronin makes a mobility check opposing Gororon's. If it succeeds, people can fire at Gororon with impunity. If it fails, Wild Ronin risks being struck on low rolls (1-2 usually). I was going to do the reverse of that with the UFO this turn but your high-initiative drones blew it up before it had the chance.

You can, of course, tell your troops to fire only if they have a clear shot.

It does not.

Plan Full Broadside and Desperate Measures.

• Tanks fire at Gororon.
• Jeeps fire at Gororon.
• Railgun fire at Gororon.
• Ninja Drones fire at Gororon's eyes.
• Wild Ronin Judo Throws Gororon away.
  • Wild Ronin tries again if the first fails.

/ Newt says Kaiju have genitalia in the book.

And in the book and movie Wild Ronin didn't exist at all soooooo...
