Just watched the two-part opener for season 3. Depending on how you look at it, Sam's and Al's motivations for their actions do not seem at all consistent with their motivations at the end of season 2. It's like the end of season 2 didn't even happen, except they actually mention the incident by name early on in the first half. Oh well. Each episode is really good in its own right.
One thing I don't recall the show explaining: it's established heavily in Season 4 that Project QL, after Sam's initial leap, has gotten the ability to leap a new person into anyone that they want, at any time they want. They even leap the past version of Al, who's in Sam's body, into himself while still leaving Sam's body in the present. Now, if they can do all that, why don't they just leap not-Sam into Sam? Sam would be back home, in his own body, in the present! Sure, they wouldn't set right what once went wrong, but the leapee still gets to return to their own body in the same way that Sam does.

Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoRemember the time Sam jumped into a beauty pageant contestant? That was a good episode.
Well in 1941 a happy father had a son . . .I liked the mildly unexpected route that episode took, having the situation get as bad as humanly possible. Didn't care to see Scott Bakula in a swimsuit though
Comparing the first three seasons with each other, I gotta say the second one is the best so far (seen them all, but doing a marathon after X years). The first season was really short compared to the others, so it only had so much to offer. That season was pretty lighthearted compared to the others, especially three, which got really really dark all of a sudden (ironically though, one of my absolute favorites from the season was the darkest of them all, "Black on White on Fire"). Season two had a good balance, plus it had plenty memorable episodes, and a couple really good episodes.
Will probably start Season 4 soon, as it has probably one of the best season openers.

Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoI don't quite recall what episode that is, could you refresh my memory?
Well in 1941 a happy father had a son . . .Sam leaps into a black guy who wants to become a doctor, and who is in love with a white girl at the onset of the Watts Riots. Lots of his black friends are heavily influenced by the Black Power movement, and go out fighting in the streets. Sam has to keep his girlfriend and himself alive.
Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoWahey! Great Show. Currently on Netflix for those who don't want to fork out for the DVD boxsets. Not sure if the music is intact...
One irritating thing about the show. Was how they would often leave out the fate of the person who Sam Jumped into. Especially if they seemed to have a rapport with the other characters of the leap.
Meh, I usually didn't care.
Well in 1941 a happy father had a son . . .Huh, how'd this get pinned?
Anyway, I'm surprised there isn't a reboot. It seems an easy show to make.
DumboIt's especially weird that such a thing didn't surface when they tried to remake Knight Rider.
Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoI didn't like that, but I feel like it could serve as a lesson on how not to do Quantum Leap.
Well in 1941 a happy father had a son . . .occono, a bug in the login system gave people mod powers when they logged out, yesterday evening. The internet being what it is, some people abused the power. A bunch of threads (including ones that had been dead for years) were pinned, and some particularly dickish sorts outright deleted threads.
The bug should be fixed now, though cleaning up the mess is ongoing (or was as of last night).

All your safe space are belong to TrumpDicks.
DumboI just finished a marathon of the show, including my first time watching the finale. I'd caught bits and pieces of the series from time to time, but never this concentrated. I definitely jump on the pile of people who hated the ending. Sure, Al gets a paragraph stating that he's now happy, but Sam gets a sentence. And his name's misspelled.
On the bright side, it seems Sam gets to leap around as himself from now on. At least he did in the last episode. Although that could be the added difficulty his conversation partner in the finale was talking about. Sam no longer has the resources of a leapee to help with his missions. He has to do all of it himself. We really need a reboot or a movie or something to explain all of that. Hell, they could do what other series have been doing for years now and have books or graphic novels.
There was an alternative ending to this which would have led to a potential sixth season where Al would have become a leaper and tried to help Sam out, and there was supposed to have been a crossover with Magnum P.I, they even filmed a bit of it

Yeah, I'd heard about that. Then they turned around and made Magnum a show inside Quantum Leap, easily nixing that plan.
The ending we got was probably a big case of flipping the bird at the studio for cutting them off.
A Reboot/remake would be great, like what they've done for The Flash (2014)
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Footage of the legendary second ending to "Mirror Image" has surfaced online. Video and audio quality is not the best, but it's quite the find
The series has been revived. it's a follow-up with an entirely new cast that includes Raymond Lee leading an ensemble that also includes Caitlin Bassett, Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park and Nanrisa Lee.
It's been given a full series pick-up.

New series premiers September 19th
This show reminded me in a way of Doctor Who for some reason
New theme music also a boxOur first series trailer for the 2022 series is out:
Interesting that they're not playing new versions of Sam Beckett and Al, but completely new characters.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I never saw the original but I remember Hiro Nakamura making reference to it in Heroes.
I'm afraid watching it now will make me dislike this Its at least interesting to keep track of how many old franchises keep getting brought back with obligatory modern changes. From what I'm hearing though some fans are hoping for the Sam Beckett character to return and guest star/cameo due to the mechanics of Leaping.
If Quantum Leap comes back I hope Sliders is on its way too. Its one of the few franchises I'd have no problem seeing brought back in 2022 with fresh faces.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I really liked the new series pilot. It kept the heart of the original and tying it in to continue where it left off.
I think Janice Calavicci is in contact with Sam somehow because her brainwaves are close enough to Al's to see him and is helping him come home.
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
Same here; I wouldn't even be opposed to the idea of a whole episode dedicated to the evil leapers, maybe with an evil version of the usual theme song and stuff like that.
