...Michael does fit the other three Archangels. Yes, his is the least humanoid, but he has all the other features; the "facechest", the alien head, the spiky alien body, etc.

It's not like the other three are straight recolors/headswaps of each other either.

I have to see the "sculpture demons" though.

He doesn't fit it as well as the others do is what I meant. He even has hands to go with the face, something not even the other ones do and the others are humanoid robots, he's not even that. His robot part looks more like a moon/dragon.

Eh, good point, but I don't think it's as jarring as you make it out to be.

I am going to put on my tin foil hat and say it might be intentional. Remember in SMTI, Michael was the only one who wasn't just a headswap of the others, and had his own unique sprite. He's always been the "different" one (...in terms of design I mean. And before Gabriel became a girl and slightly less a douche). He's the leader, he is "higher" than the other three.

I forgot where I was going with that.

Yaso Magatsuhi and Pluto are sculpture demons.

Pluto at least looks awesome to me, but Yaso Magatsuhi just seems goofy.

It's kinda amazing in how ridiculous it is, at least. There's a handful of nice macabre touches to it.

Pluto's pretty cool, but I'm a little curious about the robot voice.

Ah, okay, so this is like the Medusa robot in SMT II, then- Shares a name with a mythological figure, but is actually an Original Generation demon.

Oh hey apparently Jonathan fuses with the Four Archangels and together they become Merkabah.

Kinda sad really, can't match up to Lucifers power unless they combine into one. So much for Michael, the guy who once beat Lucifer.

That bit about Micheal being on-par with Louis hasn't been particularly played up in SMT lately, anyway.

In terms of SMT lore, remember that in SMTI Michael was the Law equivalent to Asura, who, while strong, was still presented as weaker than Louis. Heck, I am not even sure that Asura was stronger than Beelzebub.

The other Archangels are weaker than Michael. So yeah, I can see them needing to fuse to be even close to Louis in power.

...Also, Jonathan gets to be one with one of the final bosses, while Walter gets to be...one of the final bosses' hands. It's obvious who got the better deal here.

Wait, does that mean that Merkabah is Metatron fused with Jonathan?

Heck he can't even match his demon or angel forms, and those aren't even his true form.

I kinda feel like Michael "won" after Lucifer took on opponents way stronger than him and was weak enough for him to finish it.

Merkabah's first form has a man's face on its nether regions...yeah.

OK that looks pretty cool.

Looks more like a Neutral boss with the "Light side, Dark side" thing though.

Obviously the demonic half represents what the Archangels and Jonathan look like on the inside.

So they aren't angels after all! They are...Brutes? Viles? Yeah, I'd say Brutes. That demon face looks fairly oni like.

Also, maybe it's just because I've been only getting small bits and pieces but, while they've had spats and made declarations, I don't think I've seen any indication that Jonathan or Walter go off the deep end. From what I've seen, both seem fairly idealistic about their goals, and don't really do anything douchebaggy aside from "become part of the final boss"

Walter kills Tayama and Yamato-Takeru if you go Law, but Tayama totally had it coming. Someone on /smtg/ has even said that 2ch finds them more likeable than SJ Heroes.

Yeah, Tayama looks to be total scum. He reminds me of an Ozawa who is somehow even more despicable.

No one is going to deduct Walter's likeability points for killing that guy.

Oh wow, he really does bring you into a battle, rants at you, then brings you out without attacking you.

Mastema's VA makes him sound nice and slick.

The guy was suspicious from the moment he appear in the second/third trailer.

It seems Kaga really did die during the Xi Wangmu fight. A shame, her and several of her fellow Gaians sacrificed themselves so that Xi Wangmu could actually take more than 1 HP damage.

...That seems a bit senseless. So what, the writers decided they had no more use for her in the story, but didn't have any big boss battle or anything planned, so they just had her sacrifice herself to weaken one boss?
