Well, I'm going to do something I never thought I'd ever do in an SMT game.

I'm going to do all three endings. (I usually exclusively go Neutral)

First I'll do Law just to get it over with. Then Chaos because Chaos is always the lesser of two evils compared to Law. Finally, I'll do Neutral...if I can figure out what choices I need to make to keep myself neutral.

Then Chaos because Chaos is always the lesser of two evils compared to Law
I don't really know if that's the case in IV.

Well between Merkabah essentially committing genocide on Tokyo while constantly calling them "filth", and ensuring Mikado remains a totalitarian, dystopian police state, Lucifer wanting to create a world of free will, liberty, and where people are not bound by their status from birth at the cost of the aforementioned police state doesn't really seem that bad.

Plus, its the only Chaos ending in SMT that doesn't involve humanity getting fucked over by demon rampages.

I just don't trust Lucifer as a matter of principle.

So far Mikado doesn't seem to be any better or worse than any other medieval feudal society to me. Outside of Issachar the story hasn't really done much delving into the class divide aspect.

Probably because they wanted to show us the darker side of reality instead of the one where the people live in blissful ignorance.

Also, the Casualry learn really fast at reading "mystic script" when Luxurors spent their lives learning it. Navarre also is stated by a NPC to have lived a life of decadence before becoming a Samurai.

And Walter still clearly carries a few hangups from before he became a Samurai.

I doubt if Mastema and Demiurge are really Ultimate Bosses. From what I've heard the DLC guys, especially Masakado are tougher.

Granted Masakado is easily beaten once you use one of the DLC Archangels, but they have broken skills that pierce elemental defenses.

Navarre's kind of a douche, though. Isabeau and Jonathan are both quite pleasant individuals.

And Navarre got some of his fellow Luxuror turned Samurai to join him to show the Casualries their place. There are Luxurors who don't like the Casualry, which is the point. Issachar's first impressions of Luxurors was ruined by a jerk telling them to look for the Rite themselves when he saw that they were Casualry.

Huh... So, Tsugihagi's name is officially Skins in English, huh?

Well, it keeps the Patchwork name scheme going.

Some broad in Ginza wants me to fork over fifty-thousand macca to get through a door. To hell with that, I'm continuing on with the plot for now!

I'm kind of sad that we didn't get more of Navarre's crazy faces. Those were some fantastic crazy faces.

You know, I gotta wonder, does Navarre's little scheme even add any point to the plot besides introducing us to STEVEN?

I'm liking Mastema's English voice. It's a little younger than I had imagined, but it's perfectly slick and slimy.

EDIT: Arrived in the Reverse Hills Building. Aside from the strange exterior... I am not liking the elements of this place already. Sweet scent in the air, employees in gas masks talking about breeders and quotas...

EDIT EDIT: Aaaaaannnnnnd there's kids in hospital gowns. This can't be good.

Doing one hell of a job of making suspense here, Atlus.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: And now I'm stuck. I got a Brown Bottle and Card Key 4 from a guard after defeating his Deceased Horde, but neither seem to do anything...

I remember the Reverse building... That cemented Tayama as one of the worst beings in Mega Ten in my eyes.

Also, I like how the law and chaos dialogue options aren't just "douche=chaos" and "nice guy=law." There's almost never a point where one is obviously better than the other. I ended up in the Neutral path in my first run, because I like to do first playthroughs honestly, thanks to this balance.

Couldn't think of anything. :/

... Yeesh.

Makes me feel even worse about playing LAW this time around.

...

What? LAW gets the most incomplete playthrough- It's not that I like working for the Great Will or anything.

I sure said that!

Doesn't everyone consider Tayama the lowest of the low though? If I recall, even the other Law guys look at him and the Ashura-kai with disgust, right?

Mastema's giving me some Teeth-Clenched Teamwork vibes, but so far, the Ashura-kai are the only Law faction. Likewise, the Ring of Gaea is the only true Chaos faction thus far.

Well, OK, "other Law guys" being basically Jonathan at this point (as I doubt that Mastema really gives two shits about what the Ashuras do as long as it goes along with his own schemes)

I admit, I don't know this stuff for sure and am just talking from what I am told.

Well, no, Jonathan doesn't like what Tayama's doing. Walter is the one who had by far the worst reaction to it all, though.

...

The Yaso-Magtsuhi bit was kinda funny. Really out-of-place, but hearing Jonathan call himself a cat or seeing Isabeau's mask crack in the most ridiculous mannr possible was pretty wonderful.

I sure said that!

Well, I just got the Law ending. I feel so dirty now. At least I didn't have to fight Walter. I assume he merged with Lucifer like Jonathan did?

Edit: Now that I think about it he talked to me in his normal voice while he was dying so duh they were merged.

Yes. He is Louis's hand. It's probably the most undignified demon fusion/transformation yet.

...I thought that Walter speaks to you as Louis Hand during the Law final boss though? I might be confusing it with another bit from another route.

I didn't think of him as the hand, but yes he talked to me when he was dying. Didn't recognize the voice at the time though. The dialog makes a bit more sense now...

Well historically it's usually been the other way around.
