I guess we put requests here? Well then...

Infrastructure Reform (2 Requests): Restoring the Old Ways is the first policy of the court of Isis. The official state religion shall be worship of the Gods whom the ancestors worshiped, that Egypt might see such glory again. All other faiths will be tolerated, however, with particular attention given to Coptic Christianity and Judaism.

Economic Reform (1 request): Only a few decades removed from the Black Death ravaging its population, Egypt must redouble its efforts to feed the population. Hopefully this will increase the population in the years to come. Focusing economic development of new farming lands and the support/expansion of existing ones.

59, 95: Major Success, worship of the old gods is taken up enthusiastically.
8: Major Failure, farming fails to improve and segments of the population begin to starve.

Request for Ming China: Infrastructure Reform to something that's less rooted in tradition.

Also economic reform in the form of creating lighter weight currency? XD

  • Request: Economy, The Empress Justina Apsukrus desires a larger and more thriving economy to sustain her wonderful land of Poland-Lithuania. Farming efforts are to be increased to provide more food for the population.
  • Request: Military Reform, it's best to start preparing troops for the impending journey to Byzantium.

  • China:
    • 84, 56: Major Success! Ming China has partially overturned its reliance on tradition, spurring a boost in creativity as people take advantage of their new-found freedoms.
    • 100: Exalted Success! Printing currency on paper has lead to its immediate widespread adoption in neighbouring states, as well as increased trade within China's own borders.

  • Poland-Lithuania:
    • 56: Success! Farming productivity increases, providing more food for trade and consumption.
    • 68, 99: Major Success! Troop mobilisation leads to a burst of fervour, assembling, outfitting, and training a large force, fed by the improved farming.

For reference, I'm going by the highest-rated success, on average, through the numbers. So an Exalted Success and a normal Success = Major Success.

Basically, it's hard to do ridiculously well in longer projects. There is, after all, more to go wrong. [lol]

Requests

  • Infrastructure reform: After the end of the recent civil war it has come to the attention of the nation that imperial authority is not nearly as smooth-flowing as it could be. Thus, we aim to establish a system of messengers reporting directly to us to carry our future decrees throughout our islands as well as keep an eye on our various lesser governors with all the necessary authority that implies.

  • Economic reform: The wealth of our nation has always come primarily from trade, thus we aim to construct a vast fleet of ships not for war, but to seek out new markets to exploit throughout the seas!

86, 70: Major Success, the new messenger system utilises previously unnoticed tracks and paths to cut down on communication times immensely.
42: Minor Failure, ship construction is delayed by storms, but nothing is lost.

1-5: Epic Fail(ure).
6-25: Major Failure.
26-50: Minor Failure.
51-74: Minor Success.
75-95: Major Success.
96-100: Exalted Success.

Aztec Requests

  • War/Conquest : The soldiers of the Aztecs march past the Rio Grande and begin attacking the Pueblo tribes. Obviously they capture as many prisoners as possible for sacrifice.

85, 2, 20: Major Failure. Not only do the Aztecs fail to obtain victory against the Pueblo tribes, they're forced to turn tail and flee, losing many of their own men.

Hm... I have one more request, right? Um... what would I need to request for sending food to Egypt? ^^; Since I've already got military on their way to Constantinople...

No, you don't. 'Infrastructure' takes up two requests.

But diplomatic aid takes up none. It's assumed it's not a major investment of resources to develop and maintain. Basically, when you agreed to send food, you've sent food. Similarly, sending military to help didn't take requests (what you actually did was buff your military).

Raineh said it's okay to do this despite the fact I haven't worked out my intro post yet, so...

  • Military Reform (2): Before Japan can leave its isolation and venture into the outside world, we must strengthen our forces just in case. The empress calls that all able-bodied citizens report in for weekly combat training sessions, and that all the lords and their samurai reswear their allegience to her in person.
  • Enlightenment Era Technology Upgrade (1): The empress is fascinated by the technology behind the small, clockwork Karakuri-ningyo, and wishes for the mechanisms behind them to be explored further, so that clockwork mechanisms may be used to help with farming, security and, possibly at some point in the future, even military ventures.

Right, so Japan:

76, 79: Major Success! Not only do the samurai not resist being called in, the citizens eagerly take to weekly training to break up the tedium.
87: Major Success! Study of the clockwork mechanisms goes well, and springs are closely investigated.

And the Byzantine empire, naturally, chooses to throw out the Turks.

91, 80, 67, all +20 (111, 100, 87): Exalted Success! The Byzantine Empire experiences a resurgence, and drives the Ottomans out of Greece entirely, as well as pushing into Anatolia.

Right, so I should explain how successes on Tech research are working, as well as bonuses due to aid.

Bonuses due to aid are capped at +20, but for each person helping, it's a flat +5, regardless of who they are or how much aid is sent (because otherwise we'd get lots of nasty decimals).

And for tech, an Exalted Success counts as +3 to the research progress, major +2, minor +1. However, major or epic failures take away (-1 and -2 respectively), as something goes very wrong, like a leading researcher dying, or notes being incinerated.

Hm, and finally (since everyone's free to move onto Turn 2 requests, now—we do need to move on sometime today), I'll explain what all these successes mean.

Economic successes or failures give bonuses or penalties to infrastructure and military reforms. +3 Exalted, +2 Major, yada yada. Just like research. Infrastructure gives tech bonuses. Military gives... military bonuses. Again, capped at +20.

Might need refining.

How tech provides bonuses will be covered once it becomes relevant.

And, as a final note, military disasters will make you worse at fighting for a turn.

EDIT: And remember, bonuses only last one turn*

Aztecs

  • Basic Tech Upgrade: The Aztecs attempt to develop and mass produce iron works and weaponry as a step up from their inferior copper tools.
