Kill La Kill

Well, its the finale for the initial run; don't know if they'll upload the OVA.

They will not air the OVA.

It would be nice if they air it some day.

The last episode itself was fine as an ending, but the OVA tied up the rest of the loose ends.

I gotta say, it's both weird and ironic that the OVA won't be aired since it's probably the episode with the least amount of nudity in the series {Not that this is saying much}.

That is weird considering that KLK has a lot semi partial nudity for its run. KLK is a 'parody', 'satire' and 'analysis' on fanservice or something of that nature.

Got into a conversation about the series last night actually with someone who wasn't too keen on the series, specifically calling it out for lacking in an overall theme and whatnot.

Now granted, I didn't completely agree with it.

THE THEME IS CLOTHING. THAT MUCH IS OBVIOUS.

The theme is in the lyrics of that song:

Don't lose your way.

Oh, and friendship. Pretty sure the song alluded to friendship as well.

(In other words, don't be embarrassed of who you are- Get naked!)

Cutey Honey already went with it.

Kill La Kill is just hammering it in a bit more.

Indeed, think of KLK as a throwback to all those classic MG shows. Heck, it even makes for a good (albeit unintentional) rebuttal to Madoka Magica.

Course, I like KLK for it feeling like several of my favorite video games.

A bit off-topic, but this would be an interesting development if true.

Actually Madoka had the same aesop. Hypocrites shoot themselves in the foot: you need to be honest with yourself, about what you want, what you believe, who you are.

Oh so THAT'S where people are getting that from.

He definitely would've put the "kill" in "Kill la Kill".

I think there were only two or three deaths throughout the entire show.

I saw the final episode on Saturday night.

Me too and I was sad but then happy because Mako and Ryuko are such an adorable couple.

Ryuko is cool and Mako is funny. :)

Who knows what they come up with? Hironobu Sakaguchi of final fantasy fame teamed up with Akira Toriyama of the Dragon Quest games and Dragon Ball series along a few others to create Chrono Trigger. Maybe they can come up with somehting so original and awesome that makes you laugh, cry, cheer and jeer. Urobuchi may have areputation for being Joss Whedon but even Joss knows how to make soemthing awesome.

Oh please Mako is annoying, asexual twat and Ryuko is a little rough around the edges. They would be great friends but not a couple.

joss whedon in what sense? if avengers is indicative of the rest of whedon's work (haven't watched buffy or anything else he's worked on) he and urobutcher are worlds apart.

^Joss has a reputation for putting his characters through sheer hell and having horrible things happen to them because "Happy people make for boring Television". In that regard the Gen Urobochi comparasion is pretty justified.

Indeed.

Urobuchi puts his characters through the wringer but things more or less become hopeful afterwards.

Avengers is indicative of Joss Whedon's Superhero Comic Book work. Not his sexy broken birds and sudden character deaths.

But Mako is funny and cute. :) If anyone's annoying in that show, it's Nui. -Sideshow Bob's annoyed shudder-
