Heheh, I was just catching up on this thread, and
So I recently discovered this Youtuber called the Disney Brain. He does videos on all sorts of shows but mostly Power Rangers and I recently watched his video on Mystic Force.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr4-5llDICI
He had similar views as Linkara (Nick not being well written, too much of the backstory at the cost of the Rangers' development). But what really got my attention was how he would have improved the season (starting at 19:46).
Basically he'd have had Koragg be Udonna's long lost son instead of Nick and Nick would have had no familial connection to Udonna or Koragg. Nick would also have an arc in which he eventually realizes he's not cut out for the role of leader and hand the position over to Xander whom D Isney Brain feels makes for a better leader). Finally, Udonna would sacrifice herself to stop Koragg
It's... an interesting idea, if not darker than what we expect of Power Rangers. What are your thoughts?

Team up?
Mileena MadnessWhat is with the whole “Super” thing every season? Doesn’t Saban have any other adjectives?
(V)(;,,;)(V)we haven't had a proper team up since wormhole in SPD. If this was a team up I feel they'd have shown the Dino Charge team as well
Actually, the last proper team up was R.P.M. and Super Samurai.
Anyway, a lot of series don't get adapted, so they tend to upgrade them to "Super" and sometimes combine two series. Megaforce used two series, although the rest so far have not.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Actually the Super is because Nickelodeon has a rule where seasons can only be 22 episodes long, making it necessary for the writers to split the current PR season onto two parts. The Super part just designates the second half of the season. The only time sentais were combined in the Neo Saban era was for Super Megaforce.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"So Jason David Frank got into an altercation with Jean-Claude Van Damme at Comic Con on Saturday.
https://theblast.com/jean-claude-van-damme-and-green-power-ranger-jason-frank-fight/
According to the article, they've been beefing since 1995 due to words they exchanged at the premier of the first Power Rangers movie.
Though this time it sounds like Van Damme instigated the skirmish.
...I have no response to that which would make the situation sound less absurd. The article makes it sound like Frank thought they were going to squash the beef but then Van Damme tried to egg him on and was surprised when he actually responded with aggression.

That is definitely not a news headline you'd expect to see. The article does make it clear that Frank didn't expect any problems while Van Damme was preparing an ambush.
Preview for the season finale or mid-season finale of Ninja Steel.

Mileena MadnessYou'd think having an expy of Bulk and Skull would mean they'd have hidden depths too. But instead they're basically just assholes and nothing more. And as of the latest episode(not the one the person just posted a preview of), they helped almost destroy the world/etc. Jeez. Bulk and Skull not even did that, or close to. They were still good people at heart, they just needed development and real friends. And that is something they got. When push came to shove, they'd do the right thing.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Bulk and Skull it should be pointed out, had several seasons to be fleshed out (hell they ended up outlasting the original 5).
Literally two at best. They started being fleshed out within the first season alone. Their biggest notable thing till the In Space bit was when they went out of their way to save the Rangers, knowing they'll lose their memories in the process, meaning they'd lose all the progress they made on revealing their identities. A choice they made, knowing it doesn't really help them specifically. It was their biggest special moment. There's small bits of developments here and there. But no, it wasn't all that many seasons they got serious fleshing out either. Then Zeo was the last one with anything notable beyond the In Space finale, and Samurai, which didn't exactly show Skull doing anything at all beyond the fact he clearly went places... offscreen. Without any real details."He just happens to be rich" is the most accurate description.
It didn't take very long. It took a long time to finish their development, but it's been going on since the first season of Power Rangers as a whole, as they started slowly getting better. It's because they had depth near right away and weren't just random bullies. They gave no depth to this duo at all.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Well, they do have another season to develop them...
Mileena MadnessI doubt much will happen. If it did, they'd show at least a few worthwhile hidden depths within the first season. Ultimately, if the finale doesn't show some redeeming factor, when it would actually count, they most likely are just going to be boring shallow fools for the next season. I mean, obviously I could be wrong. And that'd be great. But I have little hope for these two.
Another thing to keep in mind with Bulk and Skull is some of the stuff seemed pretty unfair and disproportionate at times. For instance, the whole "in detention for the rest of their [high school] lives." That's bullshit. Nobody deserves that. If it was that severe, a suspension or expulsion is already more logical. Being in detention for a higher period of time is understandable. Even possibly the current year or semester if necessary, and that already sounds over the top. But one big moment that sticks out is Kimberly legitimately agreed to a date with Skull... and brushed him off as some kind of pointless "oh they're butt monkeys" moment. Sure, she was clearly not in the right mind. But it's not like Bulk and Skull were liars. They actually are pretty honest people. They're bullies too(well, were), sure. They were jerks. There's no denying that. But lying was definitely not their forte. The lesson should've been given right, and that she shouldn't have blown him off. Saying she felt uncomfortable and didn't honestly remember would've been a smarter way to handle it, as another lesson to learn. People aren't perfect. People don't have perfect memories. Being respectful to another who is actually honest would've made a lot more sense than just being a dick to him. Really, what was that supposed to teach anyway? That you should be an ass to people you don't like? Cause that's a pretty poor one, and all it taught. That's sometimes a major issue with MMPR. Many lessons come off poorly due to bad writing ideas and unnecessarily butt monkey issues where they don't fit.
Bulk and Skull even got some wins in the first season alone. But they also were intentionally written to be more than butt monkeys intended to teach a lesson. The problem with this new duo is that they aren't really much there to help teach a lesson, they're just butt monkeys for comedy and karma at best. Any lessons are given to the rangers and their allies, with mostly Mick teaching them alone.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.I'm just holding out for the series to adapt Kyurangers. I swear if they screw this up, make it boring somehow, I can safely say that the franchise will stagnate to a downward velocity.
There is so much that can be done with that source; twelve rangers, four mechs, a modular build system, space themed, one of the best-designed team to come from the past year, furry appeal (This isn't typically good, but this is a children-oriented show so this should be good), and the best morpher I've seen so far minus the dinocharge gun.
Eh, this show's always been best when it comes to 5-6 Rangers. The Kyurangers cast size doesn't seem to fit their strengths.
Put it on Earth with a high-school setting. Worked for Megaforce. :V
Mileena MadnessDino Supercharge had the largest cast and it was pretty damn good.
Dino Supercharge also barely focused on some of those extra cast members. It was a good attempt, but some barely showed up or had any appearances at all.
The issue is they'd need a lot of episodes to decently give everyone development. And they won't get a lot of episodes due to the contract. This might work well if we're talking a full 40 episodes without a season split(regular to Super), and that's questionable.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Holy crisis Batman! PS Look behind Orion.
Rangers morphed. Rangers de-morphed. And nothing was ever the same color again.
Which one is Orion? There's so many colors. Super Mega Force guy, nevermind.
There's also a group that's all black next to Udonna's head. Not sure who they are. And nice touch with the White Stranger next to the Dino Force Rangers.

Isn't actors from other seasons coming back for Super Ninja Steel?
