I think it's a greatest work of shonen fiction ever. I just wish Togashi would stop having children/chronic back pain/Incurable Cough of Death long enough to keep it going.
Follow me on Twitter, I'm pretty awesome http://www.twitter.com/ZekeFreekSeems like they're going for an Adaptation Expansion for the Chimera Ant arc. A la how the first anime treated the earlier arcs. Which is kinda weird, since it was already really long and questionably paced.

I'm one of the people who didn't hate the Chimera Ant arc, but this seems like a strange move. It needs trimming down, not add-ons.
But then again, their catching up quick and Togashi is super slow.
Unfortunately, this anime is destined for a Gecko Ending.

Follow me on Twitter, I'm pretty awesome http://www.twitter.com/ZekeFreekI think it's working fairly well at moment, given that they're just adding foreshadowing and characterization. We're see how things work out later on, though.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Sad as slow Togashi is. This is series set up to literally go on forever, it tosses potential plot threads around like candy.
Follow me on Twitter, I'm pretty awesome http://www.twitter.com/ZekeFreekPace continues to be very slow relative to the manga. I can appreciate the thought behind expanding things with more detail, but I'm not sure I enjoy the execution.
Also (manga spoiler)maybe plot hole with Gyro still alive while Meleoron exists? Although honestly they never made big deal of it in the manga.

Quite possibly, I was thinking that as well.
Is it the anime screwing up, or was it because people (I believe I was the main advocate of the idea) were too quick to call something fact?
I should clarify that spoiler in my post and Clarste's refer to manga events, and should not be read by anime-watchers.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."New episode. No more expanded material this time, although they threw in the Gyro flashback earlier. Not that its placement in the manga ever made much sense to anyone.
Not sure I approve of it being here, though. It meant there was some material in it that they couldn't show because it hadn't happened yet, and that means we're going to have to revisit it later. Whereas I think it works better if it's all in one chunk.
Well, it's a weird, jarring sequence no matter when it happens, I suppose.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Meleoron and Gryo are not the same person. Meleoron's real name was Jail. Anyway episode was very brutal.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.It has been a WHILE, but I'm guessing gyro is supposed to be an important influence to the king.

Spell My Name With An S. Jail and Gyro are identical in Japanese.
He's really not. Gyro became the only ant the that Queen was completely unable to suppress. He left NGL a good while after the King was born, passing through the town Gon was staying in, but not meeting him.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."No their not I checked. Their close but not the same.
Jail (ジェイル, Jairu) Gyro (ジャイロ, Jairo)
You look happy, I can change that if you want.I was basing myself on the king's initial actions and personality. I mean, pretty much the very first thing he did was killing off the ant queen, it's parent.

Yeah, but that was exactly what the King was supposed to do. The King was basically a new being, while Gyro was untouched, psychologically.
And, y'know, that larger issue is that Gyro passed through the town Gon was staying in on foot while the King was flying the countryside in a completely different direction.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Before the King was born.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.Well, knowing Togashi's style, I think I'll put money on Gyro becoming the main villain of the series.
Help?.. please...Finally out of the prologue for this arc.
This was the best place to ask. But could some people fix up the Hunter X Hunter Page a bit lots of errors there.
Also Neferpitou is now a girl according to the official subs.
You look happy, I can change that if you want. The anime's pretty clearly using a female character model for Pitou, in addition to the official subs. Noticeable curves and all that.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."indeed yet debate continues.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.Well- the actual fact of the matter is that gender is a purely aesthetic distinction for Chimera Ants, so Pitou is technically genderless.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I'm up to the Heaven's Arena "arc"; Gon and Kilua have reunited, and they plan to reunite with the others at New Port City - also, Gon wants to punch Hisoka in the face.
Liking the anime so far, and very pleased to learn that it's made by the same guy who made Yu Yu Hakusho. I should have known the second I saw Hanzo.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).This is a very good show. I wish it was more popular around here (and everywhere for that matter.)
You look happy, I can change that if you want.
Really? No topic for the anime? I found the topic for the manga, but its too full of spoilers for the anime, so I thought it having its own thread would suit it better.

And also, the Chimera Ant Arc has begun.
For those who haven't seen Hunter x Hunter, it's a very serious shonen. The most serious that I've ever seen, as well as being well written, although some fans call it the greatest work of fiction ever. This is one anime you don't want to spoil the story to, at all.
