[up]Only real difference on my builds is heavy caliber over high voltage, and sinister reach over metal auger. Though finding out about the punch through rule has me planning on switching that for some runs.

I would recommend trying to fit heavy cal, the damage boost transfers over to the crits for a huge amount, and with amprex's fire rate, you won't notice the status chance loss.

[up]I don't have that mod yet, but instead of using Heavy Caliber I'm thinking of slapping Critical Delay once I get it. Since a Ro F reduction won't harm the Amprex DPS and crit multiplier scales up better than raw base damage.

[up]Feel free to try, but you should know Ro F does affect continuous weapons like Amprex. Not only does it alter ammo consumption, it affects how often the enemy receives a damage tick. So Critical Delay will have a negative affect on your DPS, not sure if the critical boost will offset it.

[up] Normally with Critical Delay you accept the loss in DPS in exchange of more bang per bullet. For instance, having a 4K DPS on Grakata isn't useful against several enemies throughout a level since you'll almost never need so much damage for one target. In that case, you can make each bullet more relevant with Critical Delay instead of depending on a high ROF.

Now for Amprex, I am not sure if it's worth because of the continuous mechanism.

Sneak peak of the next update.

Augment mods for Contagion and Cataclysm which seem meh, a new spy vault tile and more PBR update.

The Cataclysm augment might be useful for defence missions.

The Limbo mod is interesting. Not in and of itself, but because I find the fact that they're Pushing Limbo players to use Cataclysm more offensively.

Like, I get the idea: Give yourself Rift Torrent, pop open a cataclysm and go to town with amped up damage. Trick is, while I was leveling my Limbo I fund that engaging in an all-out gunfight at close range to be a really, really bad idea. So far as I know Cataclysms is mostly used for defending stuff, so I can't imagine you'll get much more time out of it.

The Saryn one seems like it could be potent, but the range is short. Good against Infested, I guess? Maybe?

It looks useful for defence, especially Infested, since it'll help you waste less energy on casting cataclysm.

Cataclysm is a really tricky ability, since it endangers Limbo so much. The rest of his kit is about carefully controlling who is or isn't in the rift... and then Cataclysm comes in where you have a rather large portion of people in and another portion out, making both dimensions dangerous for Limbo. I really only see this working with Teammates that can take some aggro for Limbo, otherwise he's toast.

Big problem is that Limbo already rides on duration, but duration doesn't make the bubble stay bigger any longer. Past a certain point there's no benefit to making it last longer. This mod hits the same problem, even at the most optimum you're looking at a few seconds increased duration, which you immediately lose because your probably going to dismiss the bubble to cast somewhere else, once all the enemies inside are dead. And it's not like Eternal War for Valkyr, where you can use this mod to supplement duration, because Limbo basically doesn't need anything but duration to begin with.

If the goal is to make Cataclysm into a more offense oriented skill, Rift Torrent does that far better than this.

[up]x6: Continuous weapons are basically automatics, just visually different. Each time ammo drains, if an enemy is in the beam, it receives a tick of damage. Fire rate does not affect visual, only how often ammo ticks away and damage ticks on enemies. Since the rate is usually very high to begin with, increasing it is typically a bad idea, as it is possible on some of them to make your ammo consumption go so fast the gun will actually skip past doing the damage for shots, but too much decrease will damage the usually notorious DPS.

Basically, most people ignore fire rate entirely on continuous weapons, but if you mess with it, there will be an effect on performance.

Actually, as long as something is partially inside the cataclysm it acts as though it's within the Rift. So it actually doesn't matter how small the Cataclysm gets, as long as it remains touching the objective. Sure, it becomes difficult-to-impossible to maintain, but you've still gotten that extra time off of it.

[up]I know, and defensively that works great for getting the pod or console in the bubble and keeping everything else out. But if it's enemies you're trying to keep in the bubble, getting them to stay inside a rapidly shrinking area, or worse, trying to get them to go into it in the first place, is much harder. So the threshold for when Cataclysm's size becomes useless is much higher when trying to use it offensively instead of defensively.

Just out of curiosity, is the Troper's Clan still up and running? My wife and I play and are looking for chill folks to run with.

It's pretty silent, but still alive. Most activity is around big updates, events and tactical alerts. Btw there are two troper clans united in alliance. Use alliance chat for any chit-chat, especially if you're in smaller clan. Of course first we have to invite you. We'll need your game ID.

What Prany said. We actually had a new member just then, so maybe you guys will run into eachothers.

I'll need your IGN to invite you.

Who else completed the Tactical Alert? Did you know there was a tactical alert?

Cause there's one where some mischievous Corpus try to spread the Juggernaut "spores" (Juggernaut being a new unit made by a community member).

The event starts with 9 missions of dull captures with melee only and culminate in a fight with a big Juggernaut (NOT melee only). My only advice is to take the three last captures and the boss fight seriously.

On the bright side, the rewards were nice. 50K credits, 25 R5s and a silver tater blueprint. Nothing to scoff at.

Well, the first two stages were boring. The third was actually a challenge and actually made me dust off Valkyr for it.
Oh, and, annoyingly enough, I didn't get the cores.

It's a bug, probs. I'm not the only one who got it, but 16.7.2 didn't fix it, so I opened a support ticket.

I've got 10 runs down. Last 3 captures are about as annoying as possible.

Juggy was a genuinely fun opponent though, which is more than I can say for the riot moa and manic. This is honestly what I think most of the reworked bosses should be like: hard, but not impossible, to injure. With weakpoints that get exposed on attacks instead of whenever the boss feels like exposing them. It made the fight far more intensive and tactical instead of just "run around dodging till there is something to actually shoot at."

Also, relatively minor note, but glad to finally have an enemy worth using Mag's bullet attractor on.

Yeah, those last 3 targets were really annoying with the cold procs and over how fast they are, I had to use my Volt to catch up. Not even the overload skill could touch those guys.

The Juggernaut was annoying at first but I managed to corner it with a Rhino and a corrosive build Serro.

I think I'll try using the corrosive Quanta Vandal I got on it next time.

[down]Once you get to make them, do the nightmare mission exterminate missions. They are doable and you can unlock some essential mods from them.

Get in an active clan (which the Troper clan doesn't look like, unfortunately) — having someone to form cells with makes the game a lot more fun. Plus, soloing is hard if you don't have endgame stuff.

Depending on your timezone, I can invite you to the one I'm in, assuming you don't mind having a NSFB clan chat some times.
