I'm talking about general buggyness and floatyness. Like running up on box and at the edge getting launched verticaly up or away from box, that stuttering... thing that happens when melee launching at where wall and ceiling connects, getting "power can't be used in air" message all the time when running over uneven ground, inability to wallrun up for no appearant reason, imputs not registering at lower framerates and not so stellar hosts and so on. You know, issues that make Prince of Persia and Mirrors Edge pat Warframes head and say: "There, there, at least you're trying".

[up] So long as they are disrupting/unwanted and don't develop into cornerstone of mobility, it'll probably be fixed. Or someone will try at any rate.

[up] indeed

[up][up][up]well while i don't see coptering getting removed (though nerfing it here and there might be done), i think WATO/catapulting might be, but with it being replaced with charged wall jumps; with how we already know there'll be charged jumps, it's not that far fetched that they'd take the place of WATO, basically giving the same results with far greater control.

now if they kept WATO AND gave us high power charged wall jumps... *imagines tenno jumping into stable orbit*

[up]I have realy hard time figuring out how "hold at the wall" and "tap at the wall" could combine.

But let's put parkour aside and talk about what actually is important about upcoming updates: 20 node "star chart"!

Yup, star chart is pretty much goner. With something like 14 mission types and ever groving number of tilesets, our choice to play what and where we want to will be limited (paraphrasing devs). We don't have much info on this, but it may turn out we can't farm rare resources/tower keys/XP/synthesis targets/arcwing parts whenever we want.

Right now we have a lot of useless nodes that no one plays. This is bad for newbies who have to go through these empty nodes and unlike us they are far from gamebreakingly OP. By compressing nodes newbies will have easier time finding squads. Intention is noble, but I'm still sceptical.

[up] i'm all up for reducing the node count, but what they are doing is NOT that, reducing the node count would be removing redundant nodes, like say if a planet has like 5 exterm you leave it with one or two, and so on, besides, they aren't even removing content, they're just locking us out of it, it's still there, but now what you'll be able to run will be mandated by... *drumroll* RN Gsus *facepalms*.

from what i understood from the livestream, they're basically removing a massive chunk of our freedom to choose what missions we wanna play, including bosses, yes you won't be able to freely farm bosses, or even access them, so if you're a newby wanting to go past mercury, but vor didn't want to go to work this week, you're screwed.

That's one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. I can understand cutting redundant missions like Prany said — they're Mastery fodder anyway — but RNGesusing mission access? How is that conductive to anything, and what value does it add to the game?

Like I said: less missions to access means more people will be funneled in those missions resulting in greater player density per mission. In theory. In practice, if I've given extermination on Phobos or sabotage on Sedna, I pick Europa Universalis or Torchlight.

Honestly that change is necessary for new players, or else they might get turned off by the loneliness or assume the game is dead.

I don't really care all that much for the lack of choice. After thousands of hours, it feels like the "where" of a mission is more or less irrelevant.

Support services finally got back at me about the missing Chroma blueprint, turned out I sold it without noticing... Been trying it for a bit. It's rank 20 by now, but it isn't impressing me beyond the tanky stats.

It's just me, or Tonkor it's awfully awkward to use? You can't move anywhere shooting it without the proyectile exploding prematurely and you being send upwards. Maybe they were trying to go for a Quake-y rocketjumping feel, but at least in Quake you had agency to when exactly to rocketjump. Here I feel I have to be a turret to use it properly, and it's not like in a space ninja wizard games you're going to lack on movement options anyway. Turns out it's just a bug. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like Tubemen of Regor is out. Didn't have time to look into all of the changes - I presume his boss update is out now, though.

I did take a quick look at the three new weapons, though. Looks like:

  • Puncture-based tonfos, the Boltas(Or something)
  • Grineer-themed beam secondary weapon. Does 50 Heat damage per 'shot', which is respectable. Didn't think to check firing speed.
  • Puncture-based bow. Very powerful(Base 210 puncture damage, plus 30 slash and I think 20 impact damage?), and stated to have a longer range, but the arrows take a longer time to charge.

... given the existence of Dread and the Paris Prime, it kinda seems like an irrelevant weapon, but eh.

Don't be so pessimistic. Maybie new bow will make old bows irrelevant instead.

But let's look at new grineer gun! So, am I only one who thinks it looks like tit?

Link to update and event.

Not much except for new conclave balance and a new nightmare mode for the Trial. (It'd be nice to do the base version first).

Also, the new weapons and shizzle.

For the event, the mission change based on who you are assisting with the raid between Nef and Salad. Nef wants to destroy the research and Salad wants to use it to cure his super space AID.

Not sure who I'll root for, feeling like letting Salad hang.

Don't worry, I've already googled it years ago. For a while was pretty paranoid whenever doing buisiness.

Regarding new event, I wonder who is lesser evil: telemarketing scoundrel or insane megalomaniac hell bent on consuming all life in system. Like for realzies, I dunno.

I think I'd help Alad (once the event is up, anyway). He wants his Infestation cured? I'll help him. I also hate Nef Anyo for being the sponsor of the most boring event ever.

Maybe, but I feel like a 100% crit ration translates to much higher overall damage than a base damage crit rate.

Unless this thing also has 100% crit potential, in which case shit.

I'm still unsure who to side with, though I'm trying to think a lot about it.

On one side we have Alad V that wants our help to be cured of the Infestation. On the other Nef Anyo wants the cure destroyed.

A cure for the Infestation seems nice, but is it truly possible? Would Tyl Regor's work truly have what it takes to stop the Orokin bio-weapon that is the Infestation? If you did the quest to get the key for the Infested Alad V fight, the Lotus commented on how Alad V was clearly no longer himself, and was now Infested as the rest of the other monsters he made. So while it would seem that maybe he is trying to beg for help to be saved, it could also be an attempt by the Infestation to grow stronger by assimilating the data from this cure in order to counter it.

As for Nef Anyo. He's basically a conman that tries to steal money from the gullible in order to fund his Bursa mechs. Though he's probably a Corpus basically trying to make profits to become stronger. If we destroy the cure, it will mean less opposition for Nef Anyo, plus he could try to steal the glory of taking out the cure(though if he goes public about it, wouldn't it piss off the Grineer?). And on the other hand, help Alad V basically means he'll probably lose more funds and support for his Bursa mechs.

So overall, if we look at the worst possible outcomes of either choice, it could mean stronger Infested or more Bursa mechs. It's still a bit tricky to think about this. What do you think?

Based on the Lancer Lore, if Tyl Regor is looking into Grineer genetics it does make him the Solar system's current expert on Orokin Genetic engineering. If anyone could take out the Infested it's him.

That said, I in no way trust that Alad has intentions as noble as he claims.

Also, is there any info about this event online? At work at the moment, can't look at the game itself.

Played through Alad V's side. It's basically a Mob Def mission and is yawn-inducingly boring easy so far — solo'd it with Frost.
