Dragon Age Here's my story This thread is pretty old. Sorry if posting here isn't allowed.

Well, I might as well post my fanfic, Liminal Loyalties. It's an all-OC story about mages and templars before the war breaks out, kind of slice of lifey. I don't think most fanfic readers really go for that kind of thing, but I'm having fun, which is all that really matters.

Edit: I understand your critique, and I agree with it to an extent. I hope my next chapter is better. To be honest if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have chosen this format, but oh well.

Yeah, diary entries are a tough format to write in. A lot of the things we're used to seeing in first person narratives can seem detailed and artificial, and calling it a diary entry seems silly when nobody writes diaries like that (at the extreme end, you get that scene from Attack on Titan where the woman is still writing up until the instant of death). But, what's realistic as a diary entry might not be the right choice for the story.

Indeed. I'll reread my old Diary of a wimpy kid books to get an idea of how something like this should work.
