I rather liked this series too, it has a simple message at its heart, doesn't beat you over the head with it and it goes abou it with a good sense of humour.
I'd rather not see Funi dub this show, they'd just replace the cast and I don't think anyone would want that.
...that is a good point. I hadn't considered that possibility at all. I would hate to see KKM continued with anyone but the voices I've come to love.
Boy am I glad to find another fan of the series though. :) I've tried to talk about this series on all the boards I frequent and nobody knows of it. I thought it was popular... Well it used to be at any rate.
Anyway, I'm gonna try and upload some of my favorite scenes to YT later on this week. Some guy uploaded all 78 episodes of the dub and didn't get in trouble so I figure I'm safe with some clips.

So my girlfriend got me into this show. I'm not exactly what you'd cal Mr. Straight and I found the show very appealing.
And not just for all the pretty men, either!
I thought it was genuinely funny and I liked all of the main cast. It's rare for me to like the naive, Stupid Good type of main character but I think it worked in this show. As weird as he could be, Yuri was a wonderful deadpan straight man to all the zaniness of his Harem.
Speaking of which, I love Wolfram. I love his personality, I love his design, I love his relationship with Yuri..... It's all so sweet.
Things take a real turn for the dark when Conrad loses his arm, though. I remember that whole bit being a total WTF moment when I first watched the anime. The comedy does return of course but there's some very grim moments after that. I teared up a bit in the flashback where Yuri saw Conrad and Yozak leading their doomed squad.
The English dub is really nice I thought. Yuri was great as...Yuri, Mona Marshall was PERFECT as Wolfram, and I really liked Dan Warren as Gwendal. Everyone else was good too but those are my faves.
Speaking of the dub, it is incredibly frustrating sometimes to figure out what my fellow KKM fans are talking about. Just look at the trope page for example. Almost no one says "originators", "Great one", etc.. It's all the Japanese titles/names. I don't know why. They don't even really spell KKM the same way. If I want to do a search for KKM stuff, I have to remember to make it "Yuuri" or to spell it Kyou Kara Maou. Bleh.
Oh and one final thing. I know it won't ever happen but I wish FUNI would re-license KKKM. I hear Yuri and Wolfram kiss in Season 3 and I want to see it dubbed so badly....! Although, if anyone else here has seen Season 3, am I missing out on much compared to 1 and 2?
