From Devilman Lady Ch 11:
"I'm no longer just a mere Train Molester! I've Evolved!"
ummm, Okay, mister. Man, out of context, that sounds pretty strange, no?

Watch SymphogearI recently bought omnibus editions of the original Devil Man through my book-off.
I never understood why fusing with Amon gave Akira Egyptian guyliner.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I like the original Devilman; it's a bit ham-fisted in its messages and the artwork is shoddy by today's standards, but it remains reasonably engaging due to the dark subject matter and the fact that it's actually a decently constructed narrative that has an actual message.
seeing the way some artists today draw devilman makes me wish we'd get a seinen reimagining with amazing art and better, more nuanced storytelling. i feel there's a lot of potential there. i know there have been a lot of spin-offs since then but from what i saw i don't think any of them delivered on the level i'm looking for.
Its hard to recommend Go Nagai's work to friends. He's just too out there. He's like a demented Osamu Tezuka. Goofy art style, flamboyant fanservice, dark subject matter. He's all over the place.
That's why I love his work.

Anyone else other then me read or watch any of these?
Just watched the 3 OV As and reading through the Amon manga.
Pretty good stuff, if brutal.
