I can't, why must AJ be this teensy leelte thin stick figure? Why must the plot be all High School Shenanigans #546? Why must Tweelot get a love interest? WHY MUST THIS BE GODDAMN CANON?

Uh... why are you thinking the names have changed? Remember the bit in the trailer where Twilight's all "...Pinkie Pie?" and the girl next to her has a "Wait, how did you know that?" expression?

Anyway, the premise is very... Symbionic Titan-esque, what with the "blending into school society to hide your true identity, even though on your own world you had more influence/independance than this" thing.

In order: AJ uses roughly the standard size as the other girls even in the usual show. Because Twilight probably wouldn't feel right about staging a commando raid to steal the crown from an institution that has done nothing wrong. No evidence yet of that. Because it hurts nothing and only expands the possibilities of the universe.

A brave Anon from /mlp/ found a blurb from the production company, all legit, I'll try to cap it, it basically gave an even BIGGER synopsis to the whole shindig, and yes, it stated that the Mane 6(!) had different names

because they are NOT the "mane 6" they are people from another universe that happen to be similar to them. So yeah why shouldn't they have different names, given how odd the pony ones would be in a more.. not magical world.
