Check out the GOG main page, there's a header reading "System found" with a countdown.
I wonder what the price point will be. My guess is either 6$ each or 10$ for both.

Phooey. Still a bargain, though. But no SS 1?
Is that what the countdown on gog is for?
Also what the heck about first game?
Yeah, looks like SS 2 will be up for sale in about... 18 hours.
As for the original game, I'll be disappointed if it doesn't go up for sale as well. (although it's not out the question that it will be included as an extra or just given away for free, as GOG has done with other games)
RPS: SHODAN and Gla DOS construct rival deathtraps. Which is the most deadly?
Kick: The fact that SHODAN can create and alter reality to her will is pretty terrifying. Especially since she’s totally insane. Gla DOS was trapped inside a potato battery by Wheatley, a lesser artificial intelligence. So I’m going to have to go with SHODAN!
Jonah Falcon
I'd actually go with G La DOS if only because she has access to Aperture's insane technology and she has a massive facility almost entirely under her control (discounting old aperture)

Not Three Laws compliant. If we're comparing GLADOS to SHODAN in SS, (which we should because in SS 2 the primary antagonist is the Many, not SHODAN) well... GLADOS has security cameras and moving platforms. SHODAN has an army of cyber mutants and battle droids. I think SHODAN's got this one.
Now that I really think about it, it would be a stalemate. It would be really difficult for SHODAN's armies to actually reach G La DOS and G La DOS wouldn't be able to take the fight to SHODAN. Although, G La DOS, after the ending of Portal 2 knows she can make a portal to the moon so its kind of up in the air.
Not Three Laws compliant.Did SHODAN survive the events of System Shock 2? Because I seem to remember G La DOS doing so at the end of Portal. And Portal 2.
If SHODAN didn't, then she can't be given the win, imho.
well there was the events shown in the stinger showing she took over one of two people who escaped
That's a bit like saying that we can't speculate on who would win in a fight between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, because Bruce Lee is dead and Chuck Norris would be fighting a skeleton. In these kinds of "who would win?" match ups it's generally assumed both parties are alive and at the height of their power. But to answer your question, yes, SHODAN is alive at the end of SS 2
You mean they actually listen to the community wishlist?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I don't see why it would matter if SHODAN survived the games end or not when they face different events and conditions. Talby's already explained it, but to put it in a fictional perspective, an evil sorcerer who got killed in a fantasy story would easily be able to beat a Mafia don who survives in a crime story.
For we shall slay evil with logic...I think one of the things is that while SHODAN would be able to attack and invade Aperture easily, actually winning would be harder. Aperture is a practically inpenetrable fortress, the Combine tried to get in for decades. The Combine are the same race that wiped out the defenses of the entire planet Earth in a war that lasted Seven Hours.
Aperture is insane, and GLADOS' hubris against a squishy human test subject and tiny metal idiot are her greatest weaknesses. Against a formidable A.I. opponent that she could consider her equal, and in the environment of a war without testing protocol involved, that hubris wouldn't be as present.
The unstopable force and the immovable object. As long as Gla DOS didn't feel the need to test SHODAN, and didn't underestimate her, they could be locked in stalemate for years.

Or they could end up working together and take the universe?

Run, Forrest, run away, hurry!
Then SHODAN would go even more insane and get an obsession with testing or G La DOS would calm down quite a bit. The insanity is built directly into the Aperture mainframe.
Not Three Laws compliant.SHODAN would just wish Gla DOS out of existence.
Jonah FalconAnd then AM would just show up and torture the survivor for all eternity.
No, silly, they get hate-married.
Also, System Shock 2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Deus Ex. Not even close.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.So, it comes pretty soon. Like, in not even an hour. I think I will get it, as soon as I get proper internet (that is, next week).
Along with Zafehouse: Diaries, that game really looks interesting.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.
