Justice Avengers: Jump City at Dusk

"That was refreshingly easy," Wolverine said after punching out Rubber Band Man. *shnkt* He then heard crying in the distance and spotted a young boy wearing nothing but green shorts. As the mutant approach, he sniffed the air.

Yup, it smelled like that purple monster from before, except lacking he suffocating amounts of testosterone and anger smell.

Wolverine slowly sat down in a lotus position in front of the boy. "Do you need anything kid?" he asked.

Pulson Girl was annoyed to find out that the robots weren't all falling for her trick- maybe they were programmed to learn from their mistakes? She didn't have time to consider what to do as an Iron Maniac almost hit her, but she barely managed to teleport away.

In any case, she then heard Flash crying out for her. But she was going to have to concentrate deeply for that. "She-Hulk, Majestic!" she shouted, "Keep these things off me while I help make us a way home!"

And with that, she focused on the 'hamster wheel', allowing her space senses to feel its energies and then warping space -blue energy crackling around her body, and then the machine. Next she concentrated on going beyond space, and 'searching' for the pathway home- trusting entirely on her instincts to find it. She had never done anything like this before, so she also silently prayed.

Black Panther observed the workers for a moment, trying not to let the bitter smell distract him. The glowing material in the garbage caught his attention immediately. Though it was lying out in the open with the rest of the trash, it looked unsafe.

Trying to remain unseen, Panther fished out some of the purple material with some slimy tweezers he saw lying in the pile, and put some of the glowing stuff in a special, radiation-proof part of his belt.

"Umm... Bang Baby?" Starfire looked back at Blackfire, shrugging.

"I," Thor declared, looking at Hotspot, "Am in a lot of pain. Mostly, though, I'm impressed." He pointed between Hotspot and Rubber Band Man, "Did you two plan that move or was it improvised?"

"That won't be a problem!" She-Hulk yelled back, as she attempted to break one of the robots' arms so she could hurl him over her head and send him flying against his metallic compatriots.

Rural Falls

The Flash continued to run, and for a moment, the generator room disappeared. Around him, there was nothing but whiteness. Nothing but silence. And far away, on the distance, a person... running towards him. He tried to stop, but he couldn't. The person held out their hand. He tried to stop, but he didn't want to. He wanted to keep running... the Flash felt himself getting smaller, younger... his costume changing from a red to a yellow... the person becoming more defined- a man, red cosutme, dashing smile... his uncle, waiting for him. Just like old times. Just like old times—

But Wally was taken out of his dream when the fabric of space and time were ripped with a thunderous boom, a purple crack appearing in the middle of the room, opening up to reveal... Jump City. But not just any Jump City- there was Thor, and Wolverine, and Starfire, fighting what looked like Bang Babies. "GET IN! PULSON GIRL, HOLD THE PORTAL OPEN!" The Flash continued to run, as Impulse- who had been fighting alongside the group- rushed in first.

Majestic's dive for the sword went swimmingly well, with the armored man showing not a sign of conciousness. The generators continued to glow with more energy, and the Iron Maniac robots attempted to suck some of that energy, piercing the generators with their hands. Successful, their bodies crackled with a blue glow, as they activated their plasma weapons, aiming at both Majestic and She-Hulk, trying to blast both of them before they got into the portal.

Jump City

"I want to go home..." The kid cried, hiding his face from Wolverine. "Please, I'll never hurt anyone... I-I just wanna go home!"

"What a bizarre place, this Earth—" Blackfire was interrupted when a purple crack appeared in front of the police station, although it seemed to be hovering in the middle of the nothing. The crack opened, turning into a hole, and on the other side, the heroes could see their friends- the Flash, She-Hulk, Majestic- fighting what looked like robots similar to the ones they had seen in newspapers depicting the rise of superheroes on New York.

"It was improvised." Hotspot said, smiling, as his hands burst on fire. "Just like this one—" He was interrupted to, not by the portal, but by a yellow blur who rushed out, hit him and sent him flying right into a nearby car. Impulse skidded to a halt, stopped, looked around, looked at Hotspot, looked at Thor... and then gave him a thumbs up.

Hector Hammond's House

The purple stuff- which seemed to writhe ever so slightly- filled the radiation-proof pouch of his belt along with the glowing stuff, but the moment Black Panther turned around, he'd see the two workers, staring up at him, their jaws hitting the floor, not knowing what to do due to fear.

Majestic grabbed the sword and flew back up through the hole, cutting through any Iron Maniacs in his path with the sword as he grabbed She-Hulk with his free arm and flew into the Portal, coming out the other side in Jump City, right into yet another battle.

Thor had a fairly bemused expression as Impulse stole his kill. He was more worried how Hotspot was going to take that, really. That poor boy deserved a little recognition by being taken down by the Prince Of Thunder.

"Ah well. Ho there, Impulse!"

"Don't worry kid, we'll help you - " Wolverine was interrupted from trying to comfort the former Tantrum when the portal opened, showing the missing heroes fighting off an army of what appeared to be mass produced robot shaped like Iron Man. "What the crap.....?"

Then Majestic flew right out of the hole. "Majestic, what the Hell did you just fly out of?!" Wolverine said.

Majestic dropped to the ground slowly, still holding She-Hulk in one arm and the sword in the other hand. As he tried to figure out how to explain everything he'd seen, everything that had happened...was still happening, there was only one answer his brain could come up with.

"I believe it has something to do with pie..." He said, somewhat dumbly.

"Everyone, get out!" Pulson Girl shouted, hoping she could hold the portal open long enough for everyone to escape. Of course, she wondered how she would get out then, since the portal was likely to collapse the moment she stopped focusing on it. Hopefully Flash could carry both of them trough quickly enough!

And then there were all those damn robots still attacking them in the room!

The answer to Pulson Girl's question cme when she was suddenly swept off her feet by the Flash, who rushed headfirst into the portal. The last thing she saw were the Iron Maniacs attempting to attack them, their plasma beams coming dangerously close to the two... before they hit the concrete of the streets of Jump City, the portal closing behind them. And the Flash laid on the ground, panting. "Did we... did we get out?"

"......whut," Wolverine responded to Majestic. And then Flash came out with Pulson Girl. "Hey Flash, was that the parallel universe you mentioned earlier?" he asked.

"Woof" Pulson Girl said as she hit the pavement. Good thing her current form was really sturdy.

"... Well, we seem to back home" she said, as she stood and dusted herself off. For a moment she feared, *What if this is the Jump City of yet another parallel universe? * But Wolverine's comment reassured her it was the right one.

Than she noticed Blackfire and the Bang Babies. "Err, what's going on?" she asked aloud.

"There has been a mass prison break of Bang Babies while you were traversing the multiverse!" Starfire pointed out to the others. "Also my sister is helping."

"Woah, nelly!" She-Hulk yelled out when she was suddenly lifted up, her hand grappling with one of the Iron Maniac's heads, and as a result of Majestic's flight speed, she ripped it clean off, taking it with her through the portal. When they arrived back in Jump City, she dropped off Majestic's hand, looking down at the head... before smiling. "Souvenir!" She said, pointing at it.

"Why did you have to tell them that?" Blackfire asked her sister, landing behind her as a couple of police officers approached Tantrum with a blanket and some water for him to drink.

The Flash groggily stood up, looked at Wolverine and then gave him a big dumb smile. "Dude! You wouldn't believe the place we've just came out from! Everything was flipped... there were evil versions of us!" He pointed at Wolverine. "Your version was held by a leash! Don't know why, though." He took one step forward and fell flat on his face. "Note! Speed force and multiversal portals does not a good combination make!"

Impulse just shrugged, but seeing that Blackfire was helping made him rush to her side. "I always knew you had a little good on you." He said, giving her a smarmy grin and trying to put his hand around her shoulder, but when she snapped her head towards him, eyes glowing, he slowly walked back.

"Gah..." Static groaned as he himself got up from being knocked out during the fight. "What... what's going on?... is that the Flash?" He asked, blinking, before noticing She-Hulk. "Woah. H-hi there." He asked, slowly turning his head to look at the whole deal.

Majestic looked around at everything, waving at Static. A new friend, apparently. And Blackfire was helping for once? Maybe there was hope for her in his universe, as well. Majestic looked down at the sword in his hands, looking at his reflection in the gold.

"Speaking of souvenirs..." He muttered to himself as he continued to look. What made it so important to him?

When Flash mentioned Wolverine's evil version, the mutant knew exactly why it would be so, unfortunately. "Full details later, there's a prison break out of Bang Babies, and most of them got a head start on all of us."

"Oh great, we just can't catch a break, do we?" Pulson Girl complained upon learning about the current situation. Sighing, she then added "Ok, fill us in. Are any of the 'Bang Babies' still rampaging? And if so where?"

Weighing the Iron Maniac head, She-Hulk looked up at the sky. "Hold up. How long have we been in that reality for?" She looked at her wristwatch, her eyes suddenly widening. "Oh no. Oh crap. I forgot about it! I forgot about m—" She looked at the other heroes. "One moment please!" She said, before rushing into a nearby alley, pulling out her cellphone- which she hid in the middle of her cleveage- and dialed 'Matt Murdock' frantically.

Jump City

"We don't have any more reports of Bang Babies escaping." A police officer that was observing the group informed them. "Seems like they all made a clean getaway and just disappeared. As of now, this precint and the one over at the Adams crossing are the only ones who managed to catch the Bang Babies trying to escape." He stared at the Flash. "I'm sorry, I just need to ask... can I have your autograph? I mean, not now, but definitely later?"

"Sure." Flash said, giving the police officer a smile as he walked back to his peers. "Right. So a bunch of Bang Babies just escaped." He scratched his head. "That could be a good thing or a bad thing! Just because they're Bang Babies doesn't mean they're immediately evil." He nodded over at Static, who was staring at his metal pad, checking for any dents.

Blackfire's eyes, however, were glued to the sword that Majestic was carrying, her crossed arms tightening as she slowly narrowed her eyes...

Hector Hammond's House

The servants who spotted Black Panther didn't attack him, but rather activated the alarm, prompting Black Panther to escape the situation. Unfortunately, the alert had brought Hammond's attention over to him, making it so he directed Black Panther to the main room by closing some of the doors. And when the hero stepped through the door, he was met face to face with a creation right out of a science fiction movie◊, pointed right at him.

Hammond's orders and laughs were heard over the intercom, catching the eyes and ears of Psylocke and Daredevil, who, through the help of a servant who was tired of Hector, found a way to sneak into the room via the catwalks near the ceiling. There, they got a rather grim sight: the laser had turned Black Panther into nothing more than... a chimp! The costumed chimp, being held down by the servants with ropes, was thrown into a cage on the corner of the room, where Hammond procceeded to smile and exposit about his own ingenuity and intelligence, and how he was the one responsible for capturing Black Panther.

On the cage, Black Panther would find that he retained his human intelligence and ability to talk. However, he also found out that he could understand animals, when a female ape approached him, introducing herself as Zeul- although the servants called her Doris. The two procceeded to engage in many conversations, and although her vocabulary was limited (she could not do much more than a few grunts), the themes of their discussions were not- existence and the dilemma of the comfort of a cage versus the danger of freedom were brought up, with Zeul displaying a kind of intelligence that surprised even the well-versed hero.

For the two heroes on the catwalk, the course of action was clear: they had to return Black Panther to his original form and stop Hector Hammond's actions. With the help of the servant, they found a way to turn off the laser remotely, so as to avoid being turned into monkeys themselves. Hammond, lacking the ability to fight the heroes, sent his servants to do the fighting for themselves as he tried to turn the laser on, managing to send out a shot or two, but ending up accidentally hitting his own servants instead of the heroes. During this, Black Panther, using one of the servants, managed to craft a way out of the cage and fight Hammond, who, scared out of his mind, ran into a nearby room, locking himself off.

Black Panther turned himself back into human, but when he tried doing it on Doris, the results were not as expected- although she could now talk like human, she was still very much an ape. Hammond quickly attempted to find a way out of the facility for himself, calling AIM for backup, but he was cornered by Psylocke before his attempt succeeded. With Hammond out cold and now on the monkey cage himself, the servants thanked the three heroes, and announced that with the help of Doris, they would escape and find an antidote for their situation. In the end, instead of walking out of the facility, the three heroes had to escape, and with Daredevil's help, they managed to get out through the underground, walking out on the edge of the hill where Hammond's house was, black helicopters similar to the ones some of them had seen before landing near the rea...

Majestic looked up at Blackfire, then back down at the sword. For a moment, he'd thought she'd been looking at HIM, which had made him nervous for...various reasons.

"Do you...recognize this?"

"It looks like something I have seen on my history books, though..." Blackfire tapped her chin. "I cannot place it..."
