Official statement from the Arizona Coyotes: "We are very disappointed Tempe voters did not approve Propositions 301, 302, and 303. As Tempe Mayor Corey Woods said, it was the best sports deal in Arizona history. The Coyotes wish to thank everyone who supported our efforts and voted yes."
Good of the people of Tempe to not let themselves get dragged into paying hundreds of millions out of their own pockets to build an arena they will barely ever use.

The 2023 Stanley Cup Final will feature the Vegas Golden Knights against the Florida Panthers!
I personally want to see Florida cap off their improbable run with the Cup though I wouldn't mind seeing Vegas emerge victorious.
Saturday can't come soon enough.
Whoever wins, it's going to be a first Stanley Cup winner (and I'm not mistaken this time lol). So, definitely an interesting one.
To hype up the Final starting tonight, the NHL's YouTube channel put up a compilation of all the OT goals made in the Final since 1993. Including the three in 2014.
Fate, why do you continue to torture me so?
This also includes the Game 6 OT goals in 1999 & 2004.
If there are any Sabres & Flames fans still salty about those losses, stop inhaling that copium.
I'd say my favorite Cup Final OT goal would be Andrew Shaw in Game 1 of 2013 between Chicago & Boston
What really sucks is that there hasn't been a Cup final game 7 OT since 1954(the only time before was 1950). Is there any scenario in sports better than "next goal wins the Stanley Cup"?

This past year there's been a pattern of cities losing titles in groups; Philly lost the World Series and MLS Cup on the same day and the Super Bowl a few months later, and now Miami loses the NBA and Stanley Cup finals on consecutive days. Well, at least they're getting Messi.

Out of all the Golden Knights players, I'm the most happiest for the 6 remaining Golden Misfits (Jonathan Marchessault, William Karlsson, William Carrier, Reilly Smith, Brayden McNabb, & Shea Theodore).

Per ESPN, it appears the Coyotes will move to Utah next season. Nothing official yet, but players have been informed of such and have apparently already been invited by potential buyers Ryan and Ashley Smith (current owners of the Utah Jazz) to come to Salt Lake City and check the place out.

Good thing Coyotes fans at least got to see a home win in their last game.
Despite the fact the Coyotes had some cool jerseys, both the totemic design and the howling coyote were really cool and I have one with the howling coyote.
While my favorite team forever is the Blackhawks.
I hope the new team goes with the Utah Yeti as their name both for the Added Alliterative Appeal and because I'm a Kraken fan and like the idea of another team using a mythological beast as their mascot.
Playoffs start tomorrow! Needed last night of games to settle on the bracket for this year.
Atlantic Division:
(A1) Florida Panthers vs. (WC1) Tampa Bay Lightning
(A2) Boston Bruins vs. (A3) Toronto Maple Leafs
Metropolitan Division:
(M1) New York Rangers vs. (WC2) Washington Capitals
(M2) Carolina Hurricanes vs. (M3) New York Islanders
Central Division:
(C1) Dallas Stars vs. (WC2) Vegas Golden Knights
(C2) Winnipeg Jets vs. (C3) Colorado Avalanche
Pacific Division:
(P1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (WC1) Nashville Predators
(P2) Edmonton Oilers vs. (P3) Los Angeles Kings
Feeling is that this is one of the most wide-open tournaments in years, and I'm inclined to agree — I could see all but three of these teams plausibly win the Cup.
I never agreed with the idea that warm-weather cities shouldn't have NHL teams(like all four remaining teams), and I'm from Seattle so we'd have been more likely to get a team sooner if not for all the warm-weather cities that got there first.
