The main thing holding it back is that 90% of viruses will corrupt or delete your restore points, so you can't use it to fix a virus problem.
It is pretty awesome other than that, though.

WLM is going to be discontinued.
I tried using it last night to fix a program, but somehow it made things worse, to the point I can't even uninstall the program. But usually it's a handy way to quickly fix a problem.
Windows 7 restore doesn't have a lot of options, though. I miss the Windows XP restore, where you can make your own restore points, and also restore ordinary files in some cases, if you use it right.

Yeah, but I'm holding on to it until either Skype stops sucking (There are a lot of features from WLM I use that Skype doesn't have, such as: Ability to send files to WLM clients*, contact groups*, text color) or I switch to Google Talk.

It successfully got my Windows Live Messenger back in shape after I got suckered into downgrading it to Skype. It was the first time I ever used a restore point.
