Nine Latter-Day Simpsons Episodes That Match Up to the Early Classics

I’m gonna be truthful, after the mixed bag that was season 23, and some of the more feeble entries in season 24, I’m a little worried about the show continuing for too much longer.

However. i thought i would post this seeing the show's immense hatedom. I'm really anal about this 'cuz the show may be ending soon and there aren't a lot of decent shows left.

{{http://www.vulture.com/2012/02/nine-simpsons-episodes-as-good-as-early-classics.html}} I think everyone needs to see "Holidays of Future Passed", because I thought it was reminiscent of the classics and if you get thru without even smiling once, you have no soul.

[1] this ep was praised for its humor and emotional scenes.

Link's broken. For their sake, they better not have that foul Lady Gaga episode.

I wouldn't say about worrying for show not continuing, I'm worried that it WILL be continued.

I'm firm believer in that everything has to end, even the good things tongue

[up] This - and that goes for everything, especially mediums that become stale and obsolete easily (even with quality staff after awhile) like Western Animation/Anime in general. DON'T just look at the Simpsons for that...

Let the Simpsons have their 25th Season and let it end there. That will secure the show's need to be the Longest Running Animated Show on TV in the Guinness Book. They don't have much competition for that title.

You do know that I said I was worried that it WILL go on for too much longer, don’t you?

I’m perfectly fine with the show ending after season 25, I’m really worried about what’s going to replace it. Also I didn’t care for that Gaga episode either as I felt it was subpar and a rehash of “Stark Raving Dad.”

While I consider Season 20-22 to be a step up in quality, 23 was a mixed bag, and 24, from what I’ve seen is somewhat feeble. And I’m starting to think they should begin wrapping it up.

The thing I want the most for this series is for it to have a spectacular send-off that pays it tis dues and I want it to happen while the show has some life left in it , than for it to end when it has completely fizzled out, or it will have a “Seinfeld” ending.

However even though Season 24 has had some stale episodes, I’m still glad that it has managed to put out some decent episodes in recent years. here's the list.

"Tales From the Public Domain" Season 13. Liked it, but not sure it belongs here. "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" Season 14, I haven’t seen this one. "Moe Baby Blues," Season 14, I saw it, but I don’t remember it. "Today, I am a Clown," Season 15, I haven’t seen this one. "All's Fair in Oven War," Season 16, I haven’t seen this one. "Treehouse of Horror XVII," Season 18, Liked it, but not sure it belongs here. "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind," Season 19, LOVED this one. Definitely a keeper. "Politically Inept, With Homer Simpson," Season 23 Liked it, but not sure it belongs here. "Holidays of Future Passed," Season 23, LOVED this one One of my faves.

When I saw “Holidays of Future Passed” in late 2011, and since then, I cherished this episode, because it had a combo of what classic eps were made of, and most modern eps lack. It had a strong story, good jokes, good character development, good quills, strong emotional moments, and the characters at their best. It was critically acclaimed.

please tell me that you watched it.

I thought that Season 23 was more hit than miss, actually (despte containing my vote for the worst episode ever, "Lisa Goes Gaga"). Season 24 isn't great so far, but it's still early.

Link's broken. For their sake, they better not have that foul Lady Gaga episode.

I doubt it. That episode was nearly univerally hated.

My favorite latter-day Simpsons episode would have to be "A Star Is Torn" from Season 16. Lisa's always been musically inclined, and we've seen Homer do songwriting before for the Be Sharps and that "Everybody Hates Ned Flanders" song, so having them bond over musical collaboration makes a lot of sense. It's got a lot of great jokes and touching moments, and an ending that does a great job being both at once.

I'm also pretty fond of "Fraudcast News", "24 Minutes", and "I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot.
