So, I ended up putting on clothes and going out tonight. I went to a free party in Greenwich I heard about on the internet. The party itself sucked, but just getting out (and eating something, which I'd mostly forgotten to do for the last two days) made me feel better. Plus, I got a message on OKCupid. Yes, I know it's way too early to start dating, but I hope this person won't disappear, so I'll be able to keep her as a friend until the time is right.
Now I just have to will myself not to dream about my ex.

I almost messaged to ask if coming back to Florida would improve my chances. Glad I didn't, though. Tonight, I will cash my last paycheck, then do laundry. Tomorrow, I'm going to a depression support group meeting.
At this point, I'm coming to believe that we'll never talk again. I have to decide if I'm OK with that.

I'm very glad the "going out among the people" thing seems to be working out for you. Keep doing it.

Long story short, we're talking regularly again, and we're friends, but instead of trying to drag each other back into an unhealthy relationship, she's actually encouraging me to give up on being with her, stay in NY, and keep trying to move on with my life.
Feels good, man.

sometimes I feel like I know you from somewhere any information please call 555....I'm pretty happy with my decision. After all, not much is actually changing. Long distance relationships consist entirely of talking anyway, so the only real difference is that we won't be talking about love or sex anymore.
B... But... But...
OK. I'm done. Time to move on. I should be going back to NY tomorrow, after which I'll need to redouble my efforts to find a job.

Project progress: The Adroan (102k words), The Pigeon Witch, (40k). Done but in need of reworking: Yume Hime, (50k)^ Don't be afraid to take the first job you find. Money is money and the economy is doing too terrible to try and act "above" a certain line of work.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."So I went back to NY and took a temporary job to support myself while I looked for a regular one.
I got close. I had two interviews, one of which went very well. But nothing.
And now I have to move out of the place I'm staying in. There are a lot of reasons, but the main one is that my roommate went through my suitcase, found some money I had hidden in there, and stole it.
I can't afford deposit and two months rent for a new place, and almost all my savings is gone, so it's either sleep on one of my friends' couch indefinitely, or move back to Florida to stay with family and friends for a while.
I'm 80% sure it'll be Florida at this point.

Ah. Your first post made it sound like she was supposed to move with you at the same time. But she could have handled this much more considerately and you should still take advantage of your distance to keep from contacting her.
