Ooh, sounds like fun. I think we could also use the golem computer mind control thing to great effect with it.
And we also now have a third boiler. I turned on the World Eater to use up some of the power.

I've decided to exclude the transmutations as well, at least for now. We have a plentiful supply of all the metals and I don't think it'd get used much.
Hrmm, well, maybe not. Depends on how well this prototyping goes
HAH! I've just had a brainwave. Jars and golems are completely unnecessary because I can just pipe directly from alembics! Where alchemy is a low cost, repeated operation, the potentially slower essentia access is meaningless! This makes everything so much simpler (and server friendly)

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Welp so we just lost everything from the last 20 days. Apparently the server REALLY does not like it when you turn off an MFFS projector, so it decided to regen the entire world. I'm just gonna op everyone so you can all spawn in what you've done in the meantime.
Unless I can fix it by deleting the chunk?? Let's see.

Didn't we discover LAST time that the world eater was a terrible idea?
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"It wasn't the world eater this time, it was the forcefield dome. I clicked the off button by accident and everything lagged to death.
And yeah, looks like everything is broken, so I'm restoring from the backup. I'm copying over player.dat files to make rebuilding easier, but this is still going to be a massive pain.
Server is now up. Good luck.

You do realize your "Backup" is a completely blank world, right? It's as fresh as it was when I first logged in.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Okay, for some reason the server forgot it was supposed to load Tropecraftia so it generated a new world with a default name instead of opening the existing one. It's working now.
So would people be interested in playing an Agrarian Skies map?
agrarian skies?
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"It's a modpack sort of like the original Feed the Beast map. You start out on a skyblock with virtually nothing and through the power of Equivalent Exchange type stuff and a whole load of altered recipes you can eventually craft anything.
Oooo Neat.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Actualy, it's a skyblock inspired by and from the creator of the Magic Farm pack. Which means Hunger Overhaul is in play (feeding yourself is harder, starving = death), there's a defined progression through the tech, a lot of the recipes are harder and the Nether is a whole lot of NOPE. Also, a quest mod was created for the pack; it also enforces hardcore rules if you run out of lives. (Also, no Equivilant Exchange.)
I've sunk a lot of time into a single-player play-through so far. I don't think I'll do a multiplayer one on top of it but I can answer questions and stuff.

Pretty grindy.
So what modpack are you guys using now? The Yogscast modpack reboot has me a little more interested in MC, particularly mods. My brother now has a dedicated gaming PC, and when he gets it hooked up, I should be able to piggyback off of it to play a modded pack.

Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenWe're currently using a slightly modified Direwolf20 pack, but nobody has played at all recently.
Oh, that's a shame. I was browsing the Ft B news, and they mention that in 1.7 modpacks they are going to shift to using 'RF' as the sole energy system. I don't quite remember what mod they are referring to.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenRedstone Flux is the energy system of Thermal Expansion 3.
... Oh. Eugh. Was never one for TE. Could be worse, though.

Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenThermal expansion is nice though!
And yeah, I haven't been doing much minecraft lately. I should really get back into it :C
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"I've just always had a love-hate relationship with Buildcraft and it's related mods, though. Well, I wanted to get into Minefactory Reloaded anyway, so there's that.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI like thermal expansion because it's at least acceptably powerful without having to stop all other projects and make a dedicated powerplant of doom
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"I've started playing Agrarian Skies. I'm considering uploading my map to the server so people can play along if they so wish.
cobblestone island of dooooom.

In the spirit of Thaumic Automation I'm tackling making alchemy automated, or at least semi automated.
With pipes being assballs stupid, I've settled on a design that will exclude the ethereal bloom for simplicity and its irrelevance. Three "wings" of jars, each designed to hold one of the aspects from every alchemic reaction, while making sure each wing contains at least one of the maximum of three essentias used. These are fed by golems tied to an alchemic furnace, it'll have the same cutoff function my current setups have, but should be more compact. Each jar will have a valve that will be toggleable via computer/lever/whatever, I haven't decided yet. From there it's just a matter of calling for the reagent you need (thinking of computerizing at least this, to allow for true automation)
Certain reactions, like transmutation, will pull different essentia based on the reagent placed in the thaumatorium. This should be enough control that I won't need to split the transmutations up and can just leave them all in one loop, much like Golems will be one, and purification.
Effectively It'll look something like:
[Golems] [(Numerous Golem Cores)] [Alumentum] [Nitor] [Transmutation] [Purification] [Tallow] [Thaumium]
