Square Enix, huh? At the very least, we know it will look pretty. Have they done any FP Ss in the past, other than Human Revolution?

Jonah FalconI voted for this one on Greenlight, it definately looks promising. Think Battlefield 1942, but with an even bigger scale, more units, slightly more modernized, and the ability to play the RTS portions on a tablet.
I'm not too sure if the grahpics are going to be impressive though. At a distance the character models and vehicles look great, but up close they have some very plain textures. It's probably intentional, since lower graphics requirements will mean a potentially bigger customer base, and the combat ranges aren't going to be at your typical FPS 100ft or less, meaning less chance to notice the flaws.
Alright, thanks for clarifying. *makes note to never read after two days of no food or sleep.*
Still, sounds interesting.

From what I understand it's going to be hard on the FPS scale. Real hard. No health regen. Only a few weapons. And not even medical kits can save you. You get hurt, you stay hurt until you die.
Been awhile since I heard any news from this game. How close is it to completion? And is the beta open or private?
The game is on Steam as Early Access. It is still a mess, seems like Co D meets BF.
As for the whole hardness of FPS? It is soft. Very soft.

How is the RTS aspect of the game? Is it just one player issuing orders on a strategic map with the occasional support power like in Battlefield, or are they doing something unique, like giving the commander the ability to control units, RTS-style? Would be pretty cool if a Battlefield-style game actually attempted that.
Square Enix is co-publishing.
Basically, it's a first person shooter/ real-time strategy. The shooter is for the heroes, while the RTS is for the generals.
