Note, this is not the "who'd win" thread, but a supplement to that.

Often in "who'd win" threads, one or more of the contestants won't be known to the majority of posters, and it can make the assertion of your favorite stomping the other seem like an asspull, or at least character shilling.

So, here's a convenient thread for listing what, in fact, a given character can do. While combat abilities are likely to be the main focus, other achievements are nice too.

To help sort out what's a canon feat, here's some reliability tests in rough order from best to most dubious.

  1. Onscreen feat involving "real world" objects. For example, Bob lifts an M-1 Abrams tank. Since the real world weight of an Abrams is known, we now know what Bob can lift.

  2. Onscreen feat involving objects whose properties can be estimated. Bob lifts a dragon. While there are no real-world dragons, we can measure its size relative to Bob and use mathematical formulae based on similar objects to derive an estimated weight.

  3. Onscreen feat involving properties that can only be compared to each other. Alice has a energy blast that can penetrate six inches of titanium steel (demonstrated earlier); she tries it on Bob, who is uninjured. Then Dave uses his energy blast of the same type, and does injure Bob. But we don't see Dave using it on anything else, so all we know is that it's more powerful than Alice's blast.

  4. Offstage event we see the results of: An Abrams tank is rolling towards Bob. A moment later, we see the tank flying through the air. We don't actually see Bob lift the tank, but barring other evidence, it's a good presumption.

  5. Offscreen event reported by reliable third party, such as the narrator or a neutral observer. Professor Alice does some tests offscreen and reports that Bob can lift a tank.

  6. Offscreen event reported by person whose veracity is not proven, including most instances of the character himerself. Bob says, "I can lift a tank!"

  7. Word of God: The creator states something as fact, but outside the story itself. "Yeah, Bob can totally lift a tank."

  8. Informed speculation: Someone in-story makes a guess based on the evidence. "Given what we've seen Bob do in the past, it is not unreasonable that he could lift a tank."

Repeated feats are more reliable than one-offs. If Bob only lifts a tank once, when he's really desperate, and has been supercharged by one-use super serum, that's not as good a indicator of his strength as repeatedly lifting tanks in several different chapters.

Also, anything in filler is less reliable than the main storyline.

Your thoughts, comments, lists of feats?

Here are some for Fate/stay night and Akame ga Kiru. More to come later:

FateStayNight/FateZero

  • Kotomine Kirei
    • Destructive Capacity
      • Once punched Kiritsugu so hard that he impacted with the concrete wall twenty feet behind him and cracked it.
    • Strength
      • Once lifted and snapped a tree that his arms only wrapped halfway around with his bare hands.
      • Crushed Kiritsugu's ribcage and liquified most of his internal organs with a single punch.
    • Speed
      • Can keep up with Kiritsugu using Time Alter: Square Accel

  • Emiya Shirou
    • Strength
      • Can evenly trade blows with Gilgamesh, who has the strength of 40 humans according to Word of God
    • Speed
      • Again, can evenly trade blows with Gilgamesh, which infers that his reaction times are at least 40 times human

  • Saber
    • Destructive Capacity
      • Once used Excalibur to destroy a creature roughly the size of a skyscraper down to the last atom

  • Gilgamesh
    • Destructive Capacity
      • Can use Ea to destroy an entire town (done in Fate/hollow ataraxia)
      • Can pierce Reality Marbles

Akame Ga Kiru

  • Tatsumi
    • Strength
      • Cut apart a dragon roughly 2-3 stories tall (this is at the start of the series, before Incursio gives him a major boost in physical strength.

  • Esdese
    • Destructive Capacity
      • Can flash-freeze an entire city in a solid, continuous block of ice
      • Can freeze an entire (large) river as well as a good majority of a forest instantly
      • Can create ice blocks and ice spears roughly the size of cars to toss at people
    • Speed
      • Managed to slip past Tatsumi before he could realize what was going on (implying at least faster than the eye can see movement)

Most of Kotomine's feats seem relative to Kiritsugu, whose own capabilities aren't in evidence. The tree thing might give us a better clue as to his strength if we knew what kind of tree it was (oak being sturdier than balsa, frex.)

Word of God says Gilgamesh is 40 times stronger than a normal human, but you don't list the same for his speed, so Shirou's speed is "as good as Gilgamesh's, whatever that is."

Saber: How tall is a skyscraper?

Tatsumi: A bit more specific than the above, at least we're only looking at about a three-meter window of xize.

Mind, I seem to recall that Fate Stay has actual Word of God rankings, which helps.

[up] Gil has B rank AGL, meaning he's also 40 times faster than humans. As for Kirei, you can assume peak human for Kiritsugu.

As for Saber, a skyscraper in this case is probably upwards of ten stories, but no more than fifteen, I'd imagine.

Some for Gunbuster/Diebuster

To start off, the Gunbuster is over 600 feet tall

  • Gunbuster (Buster Machine's 1 and 2)
    • Destructive ability:
      • Capable of destroying massive fleets of Space Monsters (Which even the smallest of which hibernate and hatch out in the center of stars) with a single beam attack from it's forehead. without even moving It's arms to do anything else).

    • Strength:
      • It's strongest Physcial Move, Super Inazuma Kick, is literally able to kick straight through thousands of space monsters at once.
      • It was also able to keep two space monsters many times it's size from crushing it in between it with it's bare hands

    • Speed:
      • Capable of moving at relativistic speeds for long periods of time, though the Time Dilation effect is strong when this happens
      • Also has a prototype warp function thanks to the reactors in it's body.

  • Nono (Buster Machine Number 7):

    • Destructive ability:
      • Unlike the above, she's a cyborg who doesn't need a robot to pilot (For a while)
      • She can command mini drone Buster Machines to do her bidding, including attaching to enemies and using massive electric shocks
      • She can use her buster beam attack to split Planet Sized objects IN HALF (One of which is the moon of Saturn, Titan)

    • Strength:
      • Can use her powerful body use similar levels of physical attacks to her Gunbuster Preddecessor, but to much higher levels (When paired with er Partner Lacl's Mecha, Dix Neurf, for their Inazuma Double kick, they become physically able to split a BLACK HOLE!)

    • Speed
      • Along with Sub Light Speed, She uses an even more advanced version of the Warp function that Gunbuster previously had.

And now for the strongest machine in the entire Gunbuster and Diebuster verse, (Which before Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Demonbane came around was tied with the Getter Emperor and Unicron as one of the biggest mecha in all of fiction) The title mecha of the Diebuster Anime:

  • DIE-BUST-ER!!! (Earth Imperial Space Force, Sol System Absolute Defence, Ultra-Gigantic Humanoid ultimate weapon Diebuster).
    • Destructive Ability:
      • At the size of the planet earth itself, it is literally the most powerful machine known to man
      • can use a buster beam that streatches further then any other in existence

    • Strength:
      • Can literally pull back the planet earth, when it moves at sublight speed, and grind it to a halt with some effort.
      • Can kick back a being coming out of a black hole, which is bigger then even it is, and force it back

    • Speed:
      • Can use the warp drive as well, and moves just as fast As Nono does at the same size, possibly able to move beyond lightspeed with regular movement due to it's size, yet it's immense manuvarability.

hmm...anyone got some feats for people more on the badass normal end of the scale? Especially if they involve the first category: Onstage events involving "real world" objects.

(One of which is the moon of Jupiter, Titan)

Saturn. Titan is the largest moon of Saturn. Jupiter's big moons are Ganymede, Callisto, Europa and Io.

Baccano:

Claire Standfield holded on to a rope with a man and woman and a ten year old all holding (at a 90 degree angle) on to the other end for dear life, standing on top of a moving train, with his bare hands.

Chane can cut shotgun shells out of the air.

Clannad (partly for fun):

Tomoya

  • Able to hold his own in a fair street fight, even when slightly outnumbered (not more than what an normal person could be expected to do though, and not without injury). Apparently he at least has the stamina to fight for what could have been an hour.
    • See Tomoya and Sunnohara taking on the Soccer Club, Tomoya fighting a member of a street gang from sunset until nightfall,
  • Trolling master, excellent liar and occaisional social manipulator. Has sucessfully pulled off a person swap without the victim noticing.
  • His body holds enough light orbs to create a miracle or change the universe. *

Sunnohara

  • Based on avaiable evidence he is likely almost as capable as Tomoya in terms of fighting ability. That is to say just above average in the real world.
    • Evidence suggests when he is weak against rugby club members though.
  • Seems to have a degree of imunity from physical damage. Took a full on punch to the face from Tomoyo who said she accidentally put everything into the puch, and has been known to knock out much bigger guys. Also he can survive falling out of a two story window without serious injury.
  • Weaknesses: Highly vunerable to manipulation, overconfident and not all that clever in some respects (let's just say Book Dumb to say the least).

Tomoyo

  • Capable of at least 500 kicks in 10 seconds or 50 kicks/sec.
  • Usually it will only take her one round, or about 1 second to knock out
  • An upper limit to the amount of street fighters she can take on at once has not been shown. She has been shown to handle at least 5 male street gang members with no problems though.
  • Can deliver an entire speech in English. Kinda.

Kotomi

  • Weapon: the violin.
    • Range: AOE, hearing distance. Further if amplified.
    • Damage: Complete incapacitation during play, ruputured eardrums, psychological shock damage.
  • Other skills: Genius. Capable of conducting planned actions as thought experiments demonstrating the perfect course of aciton (i.e. caluculating the trajectories of pitches before they come at her in a game of baseball). However, she is unable to implement plans in the actual situation.

Sanae

  • Weapon: Baked Bread combined with "special jam".
    • Upon ingestion, complete knockout. No survivors.

Bumping this for obvious reasons.

In Saint Seiya, Phoenix Ikki can towards the beginning of the series destroy a police helicopter with a single fire blast. (This is one of the few real-world objects attacked by a Saint; usually they attack each other or mystic pillars and such.)
