Hello everyone.

I'm a wannabe video game creator. I've been wanting to make games of my own for years now. Thing is, lately I've been feeling like my ability to create the games I really want to make is limited. Why?

Because I can't create my own art assets. Or at least, I feel like I can't.

When it comes to visual art assets...ugh. I just feel like I have no clue what I'm doing. I know what I want to do but not how to do it. Whenever I try, I get nowhere. This is the more important issue; without the ability to draw, I can't make any visual representation of what's in my head, and I'm stuck using pure text.

As for music, I've been marginally more successful there, having made at least one tune, but I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing. This isn't too big of an issue, though; if necessary, I can resort to a Public Domain Soundtrack. I'd rather not have to, though.

So, anyone else feel this way? Any advice? Thanks.

Likely busy writing something.

If you don't want to learn how to draw. You can always partner with an artist.

After all big projects are team efforts. No need to do it alone.

if you are being serious about your projects. I am sure an artist would be glad to help whether for "free" (by getting recognition through your game) or with a price.

It's not too uncommon for a writer to pair with an artist for instance.

If you're looking for an artist or want to learn how to draw, try the visual arts forum.
