Welp, new episode of the anime and... Hina did nothing wrong
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. And on today's episode I got shiver with the whole Hina rage. She's not just hurting, she's angry. She's a lot stronger than most bully victims and has both a support group AND the righteous indignation of what happened to her friend pushing her forward... I long to see how this all plays out, this arc has been so powerful in feels. Still, that whole last scene was just so powerful.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.I only read the manga so I can't really comment on the anime episodes, but love this series! Umino is the master of Japanese Slice of Life.
Been watching the anime too, and I just wanted to say that I love what they are doing with the current arc. Not just because it treats the subject of school bullying with the respect and gravity it requires (Hina did nothing wrong!), but also the way Rei reacts to all of this.
I think last episode was the first time I saw him feeling actually happy about winning his Shogi match.
Anyone here read this series? I think it definitely Needs More Love; you don't find a series like this too often these days. I'm not even all that familiar with shogi, but there's just so much this manga has to offer outside of that, from drama to slice-of-life, that it doesn't matter.
No trope page here yet, but I'm working on it. Currently trying to think up of a good description. XP
Edit: I did it~ here. The description is somewhat of a stub, but it serves its purpose in allowing me to get it up there.
