Fabius served himself a portion of heavily seasoned beef in a bowl, and oddly enough, began to pour cold milk onto it.
In line, Dax's trunk worked its way up into the air, sniffing at the air. Being nearly drowned and rammed through another ship made him hungry. He wanted to avoid shoving it into someone else's face, so he elevated it a bit above his own head. Then he closed his eyes and took in a deep whiff.
Pixies were raised to be aware of strong winds that could blow them this way or that. In such an event they were to take shelter until it was safe to go out without the air current tossing them who knew where. So in this instance Yathelalina was unprepared because she was already in shelter, and the air was sucking her in instead of blowing her away.
"What the - ?" the pixie exclaimed as she was suddenly pulled from her hovering position near Curio. A twist of her body and stronger flap of the wings took her out of what she now saw was some's trunk inhaling. Yathe flew around to the side of the trunk. With a tiny foot and dainty shoe she gave Dax's leathery appendage a kick.
"Hey!" she shouted, "Watch where you put that thing!"
"Oh stars," Dax exclaimed. "Sorry! I was just smelling dinner. But, um... you smell good?" He knew women liked being complemented, hopefully she would accept the apology.
"Well good to know that you're well enough to eat." A voice said from about three feet below Dax's shoulder. Guy had sidled up with him at some point, ready to grab his own food. Sort of. He stood up on his toes and strained to get a good view at all the food available. "Oh, and if you, ah, wouldn't mind...? Sorta hard to get food at four feet tall."

Zander was, once again completely and totally at a loss for words. He was completely unsure of himself, and did not know what to say, or what to do.
So, he just went with a meager, "Uh, ok then." He moved up in line.

Seeing the pixie cool herself off, Curio allowed a friendly look to return to his face. "Pleased to meet you," he said giving a modest bow "my name is-" "What the-!" Curio's head snapped back up to see the pixie being sucked away by the strong inhale of a nearby elph trunk. "Oh dear!" the historian exclaimed.
The pixie fortunately avoided getting sucked into one of the elph's nostrils and turned her new ire on the elph. Curio stepped up to the two. "Yes, well, mind that trunk of yours near the pixie in the future my elph compatriate." He said to the elph with an absolvent smile, though he felt that absolution would only come from him. As such, he turned to the pixie and said "Getting back to your question, my name is Curio Benedetti. What might yours be?"

The sarcasm had flown over Lumella’s head completely and she nodded in agreement with Violet’s statement. “I think talons are really great substitutes. I can do many things with them, even chop foods. So I never really need knives!” Lumella watched as the humanoids vanished and she gasped. “Where did your friends go to? They seemed awfully quiet. Are they shy?”
"Oh, sure," Dax said to the cat, crouching down. "Hop on up."
Guy clambered up onto Dax's back so as to better sample the wares and began sweeping his senses over the food. Hardly dignified, but a man's got to eat. "Do Elphs eat anything special?" he asked.
"No." Dax said, standing up. "At least, I don't think so. No one's ever really told me that I eat anything crazy, and I think what I eat is normal. What about cats?" Dax asked.
"Nah, me neither." Guy replied, snagging a steaming fish and piling it onto a plate. "Fish is good though. Only thing special about Cats' diets is that we can get away with eating raw meat for some reason. Presumably we just shrug off the clusterfuck of diseases that's on your average flank steak, but whatever it is it's come in handy any number of times out in the field."
"That's cool, but I think it tastes better when it cooked," Dax said, also putting a large portion of fish on his plate before moving on to the vegetables.
Lumella's head seems to think to understand sarcasm.
"They went back home. They're beings from a dimension that's like shadow to our own. I give them a form of energy as sustenance and they do work for me. You'll be surprised how many creatures from that realm you can control like that."
With the explanation out of the way, Violet now moved on to something important for the kitchen. "You seem confident about your talons, you at least wash them before cooking right?"
Benjamin got in the line. He soon realised that with his night transformation imminent, picking up a plate would end with him dropping the food and his tableware. The tanned man seemed trustworthy so maybe he can help.
The fox-traited boy asked the vampire "Hey, Mr Tan. I'm sorry I don't know what your name is but could you get my food for me as a curse will cause me to turn into a fox soon and I'm scared I might drop my plate when my hands become paws..."

Dalhouse helped himself to food, heavy on the vegetables and picking what meat he did choose as rare as he could get it then looked for a place to sit.

"But of course," Fabius said, hearing the fox boy's request. With that, he grabbed another bowl and put some beef in it, and prepared to pour milk on top.
"You should - I do?" Yathe was thrown off by the sudden compliment. Her tone did a complete turn around after being flattered. "Oh, why, thank you. I did buy Rosetta Perfume before we left port. It has a better scent then Lilac, don't you think?"
"... Curio Benedetti. What might yours be?"
That's right, she was still getting introduced to her roommate. Looking back at her new companion she floated over towards him again.
"I am Yathelalina. I am a scholar of the Tower Academy."
Guy leaned forward on Dax's shoulders, years of riding experience as applicable on Patches as it was here. "Hm, I'll snag these, they bring back memories!" Guy grabbed a cluster of purple tubers. "They grew in the trenches across multiple campaigns, and they make great eats if they've been boiled right—" he sniffed them. "Which they have. Take a few yourself, they'll keep you full of vigor!"
"I guess vigor's pretty cool," Dax said, putting several tubers on his plate. "Ready to go sit down?" he asked, motioning torwards the tables with his trunk.
As confirmation Guy scrambled down from Dax, still holding his plate, and booked it over to an empty table.
"Can you put the plate on the ground? Maybe near the table you were planning to eat." Ben seemed to be unaware that Fabius was a vampire currently.

"Certainly Mister Fox Man," said Fabius as he finished pouring the milk into the bowl. He walked over to an empty table and set one plate on the ground, and another on the table. He laughed as he looked down at his meal, "Is very silly of me. I forgetting fork."
With the plate in his right had, Dax filled up a glass with his left hand, and grabbed some cutlery with his trunk as he walked over to the table where Guy had seated himself. "Man, why are these glasses so tiny? It's like everything around here is designed for humans."
Ben followed the vampire. When Fabius talked about his meal, Benjamin responded "I'd like to get the fork for you but yeah, curse."
The foxboy took a few steps away from the table and said "You should watch the transformation, it's quite cool. I'd usually wait for night but I'll get it over with now."
A few leaves started to appear, circling Benjamin. Soon, more and more leaves appear until a cylinder of them covered Ben. The spiral of leaves then kept decreasing in height until it reached a level near Fabius's knees. The leaves than started to disappear, revealing the sitting fox with silver fur inside them.
"So that's what happens when I transform. Oh yeah, I can talk when I'm a fox!"

"Yes, yes, very fancy" Fabius said, walking the few steps to grab his fork from the nearby receptacle. When he turned around and stepped back, he added, "Is like werewolf, but with more of the shiny, yes?
"I shapeshift like a werewolf? I never seen a werewolf in my life so I wouldn't know."
Ben's tail started to wag and his ears perked up. "Wait, does that mean you seen a werewolf. Oh, tell me what happens when they shift, I want to know!"

As the line shuffled forward, Nora could get a good view of the dishes. "I think I'll bring 4, 5 plates with me back to the table..."
