Just working on a character. Opinions?

I just would like to hear opinions about a character I'm writing...

She's a university teacher, she was once passionate about her work and truly believed on the power of education and enlightment, but she accepted a work for a prestigious private school wich not only would cut her wings into creativity, opinions and freedom of teaching, only allowing her to teach the inocuous, filtered and somewhat useless material. They pay well but she gradually got bitter, lost any faith and motivation and grown bored with her life, as she treats desperately to do her best in the work she feels trapped on, while she ages without never finding any reward in work or love, feeling alone and starting fantasize with her own students, who eventually take advantage on her causing her career ruined.

I wanted to call her Eugenia but dunno if the Shout-Out is too obscure...

What do you think about the character? and about the name? Any suggestion?

I like the idea of a professor whose ideals have eroded as her career progresses. It could make a great commentary on the educational system.

I'd say call her Eugenia. The concept seems workable on paper.

Seems like an interesting character, though you might want to go into why she didn't just go for some lower-paid, but more satisfying job. That could be cowardice on her part, or those jobs could just be unavailable, since she'd be somewhat deskilled & out of the academic loop after a few years in a limited job like that.

It could be said it's not just her ideals, she feel she wasted her youth, her life, in useless education, with indeed doesn't teach any of her students nothing to be a good citizen...

Eugenia/Eugenie means "The Good Raised", and the very concept of education is what is not present in this story...

This was supposedly being a secondary character of a rather grimmy story about youth corruption and sick society
