"Fool me once with with your false courage, ape, shame on you..." Zad'k shot back towards them. He kept running until the very moment Stalwart was in the air infront of him the air. "Fool me twice...." after a deep breath of the salty ocean air, calling to him from so very near, he speared his entire body at the knight, trident extended outward.
" and die."
At the museum...
Both Lucetia's and the Masked Avenger's assault on police officers made for a quick and unpleasant end. For the officers that is. Any that weren't burnt to the point of incapacitation or unconscious, were making their way there quickly, posing no threat to the heroes. Officer Olmstead stood (barely) as a flaming (mostly) exception.
"The tide turns, little things!" He screamed. As the flames crawled his torso, his white skin gave way to charred, grey-black scales, not unlike Zad'k's."Towards you all, for now, but always back into the sea! The resting place of our great GOD!" He fell towards the ground, but broke out into a crawl towards Lucetia. "You, fire-starter, will be among the first. Mother Hydra.....dreams still.....even dead....."
If the subsequent gargling, bumbling, and vile babbling carried a single coherent thought, no one there would be able to tell. Soon enough, his head hit the floor, not a sign of life to be found.

To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by."They always say that."
Jerry sat down heavily on an unconscious police officer where he'd smacked the poor benighted soul's head against a car door several times. His body had finally lost the fight against his injuries. In the distance, he could hear sirens, reinforcements for the RCPD. He bent his head down and slid a pair of fingers into his Mask to rub at the bridge of his nose. The fingers of his mangled hand had finally begun to numb under the jelly that the EMT had taped around it.
He tightened the Mask once again and looked up at Lucetia. For lack of anything better to say, he threw her a thumbs-up gesture.
"Far as I can tell, it's all nonsense," he referred to former Officer Olmstead's ear-aching gabbling. "No call, no summoning, we're done for the day."
The hits keep rollin'!With a visible effort, Lutecia calmed herself down.
"Damn it, I hate it when that happens..." she muttered. She looked down at the gem still clutched in her hand, then up to the Gentleman Avenger. "Here, catch," she said and threw the Eye to him. "I don't need or want this."
Scan Barcode used his jetpack to fly down to approach the Masked Avenger and... Lutecia.
"Can either of you explain why creatures of the deep are attacking the city?" Scan asked the two of them, completely confused. "Is that the Eye?"

Wizard Needs Food Badly"Hurk!" Stalwart's armor buckled slightly, the spear lodging itself in overlapping pieces of his midsection. He fell with Zad'k, the trident ironically keeping his armor together, and Stalwart knew this. He grabbed onto the Trident and held on, desperately trying to keep his armor together.
With Stalwart holding the fishman in place, Jet pulled up his shotgun as he kept a dozen feet between them, and started to unload on the monster.
Jerry caught the Eye or Horus easily with his left hand and polished it with the sleeve of his right arm.
"Well, it ain't a Dodgers foul ball," he looked up at the buff blonde man with the rocket-pack and space suit. "And who wouldn't want the Eye of Horus? It's like a skeleton key for most of the doomsday devices you probably never heard about, as well as supercharging the powers of anyone who's holding it."
The Gentleman Avenger nodded up at Lucetia. "Good call though, sparky. If you'd held on to the damned thing any longer, we could all have been served alongside a side of fish fillet."

The hits keep rollin'!Scan looked at the Gentleman Avengers confused a bit, and then smiling, "Oh, I get it... It's like a neutron drive!"
"If you reverse the polarity on one of those things, it'll output twice as much power!" Scan held his hand in front of them and turned it, as if he was unsure of what he had said. "Or blow up... 50% chance of either, really."
Scan flew off. His work was done here.

Wizard Needs Food Badly"A fine tool is no match for true strength." Zad'k shot out towards Stalwart as he'd impaled him. He'd avoided most of Jets' shells during the airborne altercation, but that changed quickly as he'd been locked to the ground. That'd have to change again, and quickly.
"My trident, ape." He yanked the trident back towards himself and delivered a vicious drop kick towards Stalwart's torso.
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by.Taya shook her head. She actually hadn't been that hungry when she had showed up in the first place, which had helped her stay in character to a degree. "No thank you. You can bring it home if you want." Taya thought about how long her job with Multiplayer would take, she needed some time to get a proper set up... "What about meeting tomorrow? Will you be available then?"
♌"No no no!" Stalwart yelled as he was launched away, the trident shifting his platemail around. It was a small break, but it was nonetheless enough. A single plate slid loose from Stalwart's chest, undoing the enchantment on the armor and leaving him a powerless, helpless in a now much less empty suit of armor.
"Son of a bitch," Jet said. He stopping firing and put his shotgun on his back, and darted forward, lowering his arm to pick up the plate.
"Sparky, heh?" asked Lutecia and smiled tiredly. "Not as good as 'Luti', but it will do. By-the-way, my name is Lutecia."
She looked at where Scan Barcode was. "No idea what's his problem, but it isn't mine. Now I've to go and see if 1212... Tia... is all-right."
She walked tiredly outside and observed the medics.
"Well I'll be." Zad'k projected, leaping quickly back onto his feet. "The man behind the armor." As he'd gazed and advanced upon the fallen knight, the stink of flesh, blood, and sweat waded into his flattened nostrils. There was clearly something in there, and it was something vulnerable.
"That's the price one pays for false strength!" Zad'k leapt meters into the air, and descended upon the Stalwart, the tip of his trident aimed right for the gap in his plate.
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by.Diving forward, Jet grabbed the plate, rolling on the ground due not having another arm to balance himself with, and chucked the metal object towards the knight as he collided with the curb.
He watched Scan Barcode take off into the afternoon sky, just a little more confused than he was the first time he read a newspaper.
What's even funnier is that I might've understood some of what his said...
He had new company in the form the pyrokinetic. Jerry gave Lucetia a nod as tired as she was. "Jerry. Just Jerry, for now."
He watched her walk off to watch the medics attend to the little bladewielder, who currently had Chen watching over her worriedly.
"If you're done, sir," said a quiet voice that was suddenly to his right and gave him a start. "I think I better take a closer look at your wounds." It was Myers again, looking decidedly calm, even though she had just seen zombified mutant fish. "Shirt off, please?"
The Gentleman Avenger gave her an awkward smile and shrugged off his jacket and began to unbutton his shirt.

The hits keep rollin'!"Ghlfkt..." The trident slid straight between the gaps in the armor as the plate landed near John's hand. He stared up at Zad'k, the world going dark around him. His hands shook, and he took ragged breaths. Well then, this was how he died. Maybe. He glared into Zad'k's eyes, not breaking his gaze as he scrabbled for the plate of armor.
"You understand that not even now we'll give up?" The bolts that held it on were still there, on the leather that held his armor together. His hand scraped against the plate, dragging it to himself, bringing it to his chest. "I'm powerless, impaled... Missed my lungs apparently. Not gonna stop me." John coughed up a spatter of blood.
John turned to Jet. "Get—get the trident—hrrkh—out. Maybe injuries don't—ffhhrrrkkh—transfer between forms."
Zad'k put two and two together. "Oh no, ape.", he said. He lifted Stalwart by the end of his trident and promptly thrust the butt of his weapon deep into the concrete, leaving the fallen night in the air. Gravity, previously one of Stalwart's greatest tools, would now slowly kill him. "I must have words with your compatriot.'"
He averted his eyes onto Jethro. "A valiant effort, machine."He broke out in yet another of his sick half-chuckles. "Should I give you a pat on the back? Or........." He began casually pressing down on Stalwart. "Perhaps I could pat him hard enough for the both of you."
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by."You know... shit... I was expecting something more than from that than a Frisbee," Jet said. "Well, go ahead and stand real still," he added, pulling his shotgun back out as he stood up.
James smiled a bit at that and took out his phone to look up some kid friendly restaurants. "Fast food, kid's playground area, got it. Watching children play can be a bit relaxing, yeah."
Though, I hope you don't look suspicious while doing it, he thought to himself.
"There's a burger place a few blocks from here." He handed Jordan the phone to take a look at the reviews and such. "Does that sound good to you?"
"Hmm." Muse looked down at Fluttella's half-eaten sandwich before grabbing a napkin, wrapping it up to eat later. "Yeah, I'll probably be free tomorrow. Busy tonight?"
Pausing, Muse felt distinctly like she was being watched, and turned to see a set of triplets eying her and Fluttella. As they rock-paper-scissored away, Muse turned and told her friend, "Hey look, clones."
"Ah, yes, where are my manners?" With that half-apology, the man reached into his coat for a business card. "My name is Ial Lesson. Owner, manager, what-have-you of several entertainment, news, and other media properties."
Cornelius took the business card, "Alright Mr. Lesson, what's so important you couldn't have called my secretary, or my hotline, and had to see me in person?"
"I admire your tenacity, machine." Zad'k projected. He yanked his trident upwards from the ground, Stalwart still impaled on the prongs. "It's a shame you're bravery is limited to the range of your weapon." He lowered the knight infront of himself, his massive armor obscuring Zad'k.
"You've earned a passing mention to my dread father, a being magnitudes your greater, at the very least. That, and a choice. Do you want to come get your ally, or do you want me to send him to you.?"
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by."Your whole plan relies on using him as a shield, Aquaman," Jethro said, "But you're gonna' want to mention this to your daddy."
Jet leveled his gun at the aquatic being... and disappeared.

"Clever thing.....", Zad'k projected. "Though a shield implies I need any protection from your noise-maker." He attempted to smell out the cyborg, but all he could pick up for last few moments was Stalwart's blood. It was a constant struggle not to indulge himself. He placed a webbed hand over the knight's helm, establishing a firm grip that put dents in the metal.
"See, boy?", he asked. "Strength, before all else. Your so-called ally knows this."

Jordan was very grateful for the notepad as they promptly wrote 'My preference would be to go to a fast food restaurant... one with playgrounds. I like seeing kids play while we eat'
