The description is all about a common plot where people have to wash dishes to work off their debt, but the examples seem to just be generally "People work off a debt". I found this for looking for a general trope for working off debts btw

Definitely in favor of broadening. May be related to (but is definitely not the same as) Trapped by Gambling Debts, a trope I rescued from the YKTTW scrap heap.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.
I agree. We might want to create a Debt Slavery trope too
anyone else?
What is different between your idea, and this trope, after fixing? (Oh, anyone going to do that?)
Well, I like to wait a bit to see if everyone agrees.

Debt Slavery is more like share cropping or when companies used to pay people in scrip. Someone gets more and more in debt intentionally on the part of the 'owner'. You have to buy seeds @ inflated prices and you don't get a fair price for your crop. or you're a prostitute, and must pay back the cost of your 'debut', but the books are fixed and the interest keeps piling up.

Bump
Clocking.

There's been no dissent to Animeg's very reasonable proposal. If you're still around, Ani, I'd say just go for it.

Tweaked, how's it look?

Looks about right to me.

'kay. I'll remove the quote since along with the picture it still looks too dish-focused. Otherwise done.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
