Lizard: If you need help with details (not just with Kang but other time-themed characters that should be involved here) let me know via PM, we will come up with something. wink

Gonna have to move the story into the fight now. Post now, or forever hold your peace, everyone.

Where's Mars Bars's Bioship and did they ever hear about this?

My characters will jump into action the moment it is physically feasible for them to do so.

All right, there we go. Can't guarantee I can post at any time beyond the one I just made, but hopefully that should be enough action to get you guys started. I suggest that anyone stuck inside the Blackbird either RP them weaving through the dogfight to the ship, or maybe play the part of the ships gunning for everyone else. If nothing else, maybe I could provide a random generator so you guys can d20 the hell out of both sides of this fight.

EDIT: Missed the bit about Majestic breaching the hull, edited that in. Is Maxima'am in the ship or on the ground? Because she might be able to tackle the scarab fighters below.

Sh's in the Blackbird.Unless you want her on the ground, I can rewrite that if you want.

I was planning to have Wonder Woman head back down to the city to try and handle the scarab fighters on the ground as well, if that helps at all.

The answer to both questions is, it's entirely up to you. Sky or ground, wherever you think your characters will work the best.

All right, I'm having an early night now, got an early plane to catch. I leave the rest in your many capable hands. See you all in ten days time!

Hi guys. Back again.

Little out of it at the moment, but I'll see what I can do in the morning...see if I can get the wheels turning all right...yup.

Pretty good, pretty good. Could've done without the massive heatwave, but plenty of sights to see.

Working on my next post now, just trying to get the gunk out of my head at present. And then, uh...we might want to talk about...the future of this here game...

Whatever the future of Justice Avengers is gonna be... it's gonna have to be one without me. I'm sorry guys, but I just... I haven't cared about this game in a while now. There's times where I stare at the topic on my thread watchlist for days at a time, not because I need to think of what I'm going to say but because I'm finding the energy to say anything at all.

Watching people leave or just disappear that I enjoyed interacting with or had plans based around their characters was really heartbreaking and frustrating. Basically all of my plot ideas for Jump City were gone when Strat, Ud, and Demo left and when Gaunt and Tails Doll disappeared. I could have kept them going, but by that point I'd just be playing the game by myself with occasional input from the others. Part of me wonders if my problems started when I was given the GM role of Jump City. I wasn't ready, I know it was a trainwreck with me in charge. I don't even have any of my plans anymore because I wrote them by hand like an idiot and then I lost the notebook, also like an idiot. I'm sorry for disappearing before and worrying you all, I was going through some ugly personal stuff. I wish I'd been better for you all.

Maybe I'll see you all in another game someday. Stay golden.

As GMs, we have a lot of work- we have to write the story, try to keep everybody happy, plus also fit in our plans AND our other duties in Real life and possibly other games.

Personally, I believe a game should last as long as there is some interest in it. What I have come to realize, is that you should fit the story to the players, and not the other way around. JA still has potential in my opinion, but maybe we should have done a full reboot rather than the Kang saga (wich by comics standards, is a pretty complicated event.)

So yeah, I understand you Shark. Thanks for all your contributions, it's been a blast playing with you, and I hope we'll get to play again some day. smile

For my part, I'm available to play (and help with GM duties, if needed) for as long as the game lasts.

Good luck with your future endeavours, Sharknado, you will surely be missed.

As for me...sigh...being completely honest, I feel like I hit burnout a long time ago, as many players on this game have already. I did try to write the story to fit the players and the characters (This Kang event was supposed to be the culmination of Booster Gold's presence in the past) but for obvious reasons, losing some literal major players one by one has knobbled away at that, not to mention my tendency to put story over action has seriously sapped away at the energy of the player base.

Part of me still wants to bring this action scene to a semi-satisfying conclusion, for the sake of all you lovely players who've hung in there all this time (and especially our most recent recruit, Scorpio Rat). On the other hand, with JA Universe being a new thread- and a time travel one at that -it wouldn't be too hard to ignore it, start a new thing, and call everything currently happening an alternate timeline.

However- and I can't stress this enough -if a reboot of the game is in the works, I'm not sure if I have it in me any longer to provide a satisfying storyline. Hell, most of the reason the game's got this far was because of players providing prodigious plot points of their own. I could serve in an advisory capacity. Most of my energy has gone into arranging a ludicrously detailed multiverse around our setting, and I'd be more than happy to share my notes with whoever would like to pick up the reigns. One could easily start a new universe, call it Earth One or Earth 616 or what have you, and leave everything that's happened so far to this world.

But as for me, I'm not sure how many fleeting attempts to boost ratings I can muster. If you're all still invested, I can do my best to whittle out a few more posts to end the fight, but after that, I feel like I should put JA aside...and rest my head.

...sorry, that got kinda depressing, who wants me to post now?

Aw, I'm really sorry to hear about the burn out, I've been there before when it comes to R Ps, but I'd definitely be willing to stick around if anyone wanted to try and reboot the game in some way. Maybe a reboot would draw some more new people in to revive things?

That's precisely what I suggested to Lizard privately.

What the Hell. Might as well make it official:

I hereby offer myself as a Game Master for a Justice Avengers reboot.

I've had ideas for a Marvel/DC universe of my own for a long time. I just didn't want to step on the toes of Lizard or the others. But if approved, I would create a new setting *as a Parallel Universe to this one* so that the past few years of material are not lost, and crossovers will be possible.

I want:

  • Marvel and DC characters only. Comic book versions only too. (if more than one comic version exists, pick one.)
  • All origins would be the same as in the comics. No variations (though you might link characters ex. Kryptonians might come from the Kree Empire.)
  • All characters will be at an early period in their careers. So for example, Superman is relatively new but the Justice League is already a thing.
  • Heroes Only. No, you cannot play as Doctor Doom. Except perhaps as a heroic version of the character, as in Doom 2099.
  • No Power limits. You can play anyone from Forbush-Man to The Spectre. Game balance is my responsibility. Abuse your powers and someone or something will interfere.
  • As a GM, I tend to be reactive. You post, I post back. You don't post, I ignore you.

Is this acceptable? Anyone interested? I'm still open to suggestions here.

Oh and I would definitely love having Lizard, whose ideas and talent I've long admired, as an advisor.

I think I said my piece when Lizzie was proposing the new reboot, so I'll keep it short and sweet, as much as I can.

Guys, this has been a 5 YEAR thing... this game saw me out of school and recently into my first job. We've had wonderful players, hell, we still do, plenty! I don't think it will be as... busy as it was on the early days, but this game, this concept, for some reason it brought people together, and it kept on doing so, evidenced by Scorpio here (which sorry if I didn't welcome you, er Hello! Greetings and so forth!). I can't sing my praises here, I've always been a bit player and an... lets say inconsitent would be kind enough of a term but I digress.

POINT IS: If there's still a will to have another go with different conditions, I believe its worth it, I believe it could continue being good and fun.

I'd like to be in the reboot if you'll have me, I still want in like I have all these years.

I'd absolutely be willing to sign up for a reboot, though if there aren't any villain characters, would all crimes be done by the GM?

[up]As a follow-up question would heel-face turns be allowed? within reason of course.

Sharknado has pointed out to me that half the fun of this is mixing up stuff from both universes. I admit that's true. I just want to avoid in-name-only versions. Similarly character amalgams are not allowed except in cases where the same character exists in both universes ex. Hercules or Thor.

Oh, and you can play ANY hero, regardless of when it was created. For example, you can play Superboy (the one who is a clone) even though Superman has yet to be "killed" by Doomsday in this reality. Just say he escaped Cadmus earlier.

And yes, everyone except the PCs will be under my control BUT most villains are redeemable; I leave that to the players. If all they do is beat up the bad guys, don't expect it to happen. But if you aid those who deserve it, I *will* be fair. And yes a redeemed villain can be played.

The redeem a villain idea to add more playable characters is actually really cool, I'd be into that. It might add some extra conflict between the good guys based on their methods of catching villains.
