I just bought four, so I can't deny that.
I think he was saying that he was surprised that Canada was still around?
Or maybe Canada still gets Dubs?
The Reaper Games starts anew.Maybe he meant Hulu?
Not Three Laws compliant. If only he would show up to explain.
The Reaper Games starts anew.Nah I'll let you all stew.
I just meant I'm surprised western anime licenses are still being made.
The golden age of dubs is loooooong gone.
And I can't remember the last time I watched a dub for a newer anime.

It may be a niche market now, sure, but it's an extra source of income, at least. There'll always be interest in expanding the market.
With the state of anime in general struggling its still a wonder.
Oh god, last dub I watched was the Ghost Stories dub.

The new Toonami is becoming more and more successful every week, so I'm not sure where Thorn is coming from.
Watch SymphogearOh? Has it managed to top the initial viewing figures?
"Bandai DIDN'T FEEL LIKE DOING the dub for K-On! Season 2"??
No no. The issue was that Bandai Entertainment WENT UNDER before they could!
They didn't go under. Bandai Japan decided that it was to costly to stay in America and left.

The Reaper Games starts anew.Yes, they didn't close, but they stopped distributing and dubbing DV Ds and manga. It didn't help that their prices were a joke, and they put out only like 2 episodes per volume!

You would not believe how well that works for Japanese DVD/BD sales.
Plus it was four episodes for about 30 dollars, which is steep, but not that expensive compared to say... Aniplex and their Madoka release.
Infinity...Yeah, I've met people who said that about the Japanese pricing, and to a degree pricing like that can't be argued, but when Funimation and Sentai are in the mix and releasing stuff for far cheaper than Bandai was and Aniplex is, it doesn't work so well.
Not Three Laws compliant.Aniplex will probably stay due to managing to grab the really big stuff (Oreimo, Madoka, etc) when they can, and Bandai always did those Anime Legends sets (Though you could argue that it was too little too late).
Then again, 'Grab big stuff when you can' was Bandai's style too...
Infinity...Aniplex seems to be 100% quality not quantity, unlike other licensors with larger libraries.
Put NIS with them, despite being sub only those guys put detail into their releases...
I'd still say Funi and Sentai produce great dubs, but Funi's DVD/BD releases (and maybe even licenses) are middle-ey quality and while Sentai's releases are great, their library is kind of weird and their DVD/BD releases tend to suck.
Infinity...Well that doesn't work for the US. Which, I guess, again shows how different cultures have trouble working together.
When K-On! migrated from Bandai to Sentai, the DV Ds were pretty much the same quality, with nearly no extras and unimpressive menus. I was kind of surprised. Fortunately, the greatest thing about it was the show itself. Maybe it's because I do not like textless openings and endings- it's basically just the same thing you see in the episodes!

That's generally how Sentai release their stuff...
I'm not sure about the US but there must be some sort of international demand for Japanese B Ds for them to start including English subs (ie Eureka Seven AO and Gundam AGE).
Infinity...
Either way though; Dubs are still pretty popular so I don't get why he's surprised that Funi and Viz are still around.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.
