I'm really curious about this lately, because a lot of great portrayals of the greatest threat to Mankind come from...kinda non-memorable movies. You got Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy, Peter Stormare in Constantine, even (to a hammy-yet-awesome degree) Tim Curry in Legend. There are good portrayals in well-known movies too, but I'm curious to see what people think is the BEST Devil they've ever seen.

For me? It's gotta be Daniel von Bargen (Sheriff Cooley) in O Brother Where Art Thou. He was just...so damned CREEPY. The fire in his glasses, the plain white outfit, the complete lack of emotion...it was perfect.

I'm in your fanfiction, correcting your spelling.

I loved the performance of Peter Cook in the original 1967 Bedazzled.

Definitely O Brother Where Art Thou. What most people always forget about the Biblical Devil is that at least at one point he truly believed himself to be a good servant to his God. Hubris being his flaw, and I feel they got that right.

Al Pacino in "The Devil's Advocate" and Robert De Niro in "Angel Heart".
