Firstly, the description seems way more specific than the title, and going by this image pickin' thread, more specific than other users' interpretations of the trope.

So yeah, the points are laid out there... description starts by saying "where the villains do their plotting" and further points in the description seem to reinforce the impression that it's about villains waiting until they're in the dark to discuss their plans. Is it that specific, and if not, shouldn't the description clarify that?

Methinks the problem is more with the name than the trope. I thought this was about some sort of lair that was dimly lit, but I can see how the name might be misinterpreted to mean that the villain himself is in low lighting (disclaimer: didn't see IP thread).
