Kinda been getting into mermaid stories and discovered H 20 Just Add Water.

Lovin' the theme song and I want to check it out, but I live in the US and only Season 1, Volume 1 is out here. :(

They're running the whole thing on Teen Nick, if you get that channel.

No cable D: But that gives me hope for a future DVD release if it does well over here.

I vaguely remember watching this show back during my middle school years. It entertained me, which usually only happens with Dan Schneider shows.

[up] How much did the box set cost for you? I hope you didn't have to pay 89 bucks.

Australia's made a lot of unique fantasy shows, I always wondered why this is the only one which became popular in the US. Does anyone have any idea, as an Aussie I'm really curious.

As an American, does the show it fit your preconceptions of Australia (fantasy elements aside)?

It probably only gained some popularity here because a major network picked it up and put it on the air for a while. I never had any preconceptions about Australia, and if nothing else the show only served to show that there aren't a lot of differences in the way people in Australia live from the way they live in the US, which is a good message to send to kids. The fantasy element of it could have taken place anywhere, as far as I was concerned.

Also, for anyone looking for it that can't get the DV Ds, it's available for streaming on Amazon.com, and it's free if you have Amazon Prime.
