Double post. Sorry about not responding just yet, we've had one or two technical difficulties. Things will begin moving again for the Armstrong group today. In the meantime, enjoy a demonstration of the flying machine.

Uh, GMs? One question. Isn't Amestris involved in conflict primarily with Drachma, with Xing as an indirect influence? I didn't realise the scenario was supposed to reflect the Cuban Missile Crisis.

...And now that I've brought OTC into the RP, this is going to hurt.

EDIT: Further nitpicking - I don't think you can secure Xing, it's much larger than Amestris and separated by a desert. Sounds like a declaration of plans for world domination.

Well, it's more of a parallel to the Cold War. The Amestris vs Drachma conflict is glares, insults and "I'm better than you", because both countries don't want to go on an all-out war. But with Drachma allying itself with Xing under the pretense of "resource exchange", Amestris finds a battlefield that's not Amestrian or Drachman soil, perfect for a war against Drachma. They hide this idea by saying that Drachma forced Xing to write the deal and that they're doing the right thing, saving the country from the control of their enemy.

So when she says "secure Xing", she is saying "we'll save Xing from their grasps and instate our philosophy and economy on a country mostly destroyed by a war we caused", but omitting the "instate our control over the country" part to make it seem like they are the heroes. Amestris' been annexing other lands for a long time now, and having Xing "on their side" would be a major blow to Drachma.

Oh. I must've underestimated the size of Drachma, then. Hmmm.

It is basically Glorious Mother Russia, after all.

Yeah...it's mostly because I don't know how to interact with the State Alchemists, who seem to be at the center of the plot at the moment, and...stuff...
