This is a colorful (metaphorically speaking) little throwback to the old BBS games of the '80s. It's written by Adam Cadre, one the big names in Interactive Fiction: he also wrote Photopia, Lock & Key, Varicella, and Shrapnel, all well worth playing.
It's deliberately retro but still very much playable. It also has built-in hints, if you get stuck - though you'll have to work for them. ;)
