So... I just read Christopher Hitchens' God is not Great. In it, he claims that Martin Luther King was a great man who used magnificent Christian rhetoric, but that he doesn't count as an actual Christian because he never told anyone they were going to hell.

This is a line of reasoning that has met with great success - for Wahhabists. Tell someone he has to choose between his god and his conscience, and odds are he will desert his conscience.

I say faith is as faith does. If Jews aren't stoning their mouthy children, then stoning your mouthy children is not a facet of "true Judaism". And more power to 'em.
