When most people think of the word "babes" the connotation that comes to mind is not of children but of attractive grown women. So, at the very least, the name gives a misleading first impression. While I don't have proof that this has necessarily lead to misuse, I do think underuse, which is harder to prove, seems likely when one takes into consideration the awkward and misleading nature of the trope's name. I propose renaming this to something more descriptive of the trope.
