This has a list of what you need to build a character.

You start with 100 Character points that you use to increase any stat/spend on spells. And points aren't strictly additive, it costs the number of points you currently have in a stat to increase that stat by one.

Okay, storyyeller's is a unicorn investigator, mine is his pegasus assistant (though that wasn't how I originally planned it), Ace Of Scarabs has an earth pony blank flank traveler, and latenight is playing an earth pony diplomat.

And for those I'm pretty sure are joining later, Applelight Limited's playing an earth pony luchador, kegisak is playing a pegasus bard, and I guess I could describe Zahaele's character as a friendship addict.

Yeah, I'm trying to feel out the system by making a character with it. I was completely lost by this point.

One, are you adding a point to one row, or are you adding a point to every row*

Two, what do you mean by "the current number of points in each row"?

I may need examples to get this one.

@Kyler Okay, let's say you have 6 rows, and 5 points in each row. To make a new row with the same number of points as the other rows, you pay 6 character points, and to increase the number of points every existing row has, you pay 10 character points.

So you're pretty much always going to have a rectangle and you're either adding a new row or a new column? A new row costs a number of CP equal to the current number of rows, and adding a new column costs a number of CP equal to twice the current number of columns?

Good Lord. That section needs some serious revision. Something so simple was made to sound so complicated!

The old system had it where you added points individually, but that was too expensive and story found a hole in the system, so we switched to just rows and columns.

But yes, it should be made clearer.

I could try rewriting it if I had edit privileges.
