I was simply going by past cases of Bamco crossover games rarely being localized.
Except Reggie Himself revealed this game, so the likely hood of it being localized seems much higher than past titles.
Watch SymphogearTo be honest, a localization doesn't seem likely to me either, but we can hope.
It's kind of frustrating, actually. It seems like these giga-crossovers would be like printing money - not only from sales of the game in question, but also for the massive cross-promotion. You'd think that the return on investment would be worth a little hoop-jumping for the owners of the various properties.
Why are people being pessimistic? This is Banpresto we're talking about. SRP Gs are their bread and butter.
That's only one issue.
As far as I'm concerned as long as it comes out here it's getting my money. If it doesn't well.....obviously they don't.
We seem to be having at least two conversations at once - people are being optimistic or pessimistic about both the quality of the game and whether or not it'll come out in the West at all.
EDIT - I'm only bringing it up because the wires seem to be crossing.

In other more fun-happy news, because of this game this◊ is now entirely plausible.
Discuss? Or are we just gonna go back to needless arguing?
.hack characters are in this? Sakura Wars characters? MMX characters!? A Darkstalker who's not one of the girls!?!?
FUUUUUUUUUCK YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowThis could be an inverse case of The Unexpected: people are surprised Sonic and Morrigan aren't in this.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DCharacter list is not complete.

So...not sure if this was supposed to be obvious and I'm the only one who didn't know it or what, but from this article it sounds like the pairs, like Ryu and Ken or Yuri and Estelle, fight together at all times and combine their moves, so each pair basically counts as one playable character.
Welcome to th:|Holy crap, that was fucking hilarious, Watchtower.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Ah, so the official title's now "Project Cross Zone"
Always looking for a good MMORPG with a great community...Namco X Capcom was the same for the most part.
@Beorc: One problem with that theory: Namco's initial list has an odd number of characters, with Sanger not being paired with anyone. Would Banpresto be willing to have certain characters not have partners?
Also, sneak preview footage. LOL
In the article it says:
So...it seems that way.
Welcome to th:|I just find it odd, is all. I mean, yeah, Street Fighter X Tekken had a similar pairing system for the story mode, with Akuma, Ogre, Mega Man, and Pac Man all being solo, but in actual gameplay you weren't limited to just those pairs. I fail to see why that particular barrier has to be drawn now.

Because this is not Street Fighter X Tekken?
Street x Fighter isn't the best predicate, considering that's a fighting game, and this is a SRPG. This seems more related to Namco x Capcom.
I was only using Street Fighter X Tekken for example's sake, geez. But yeah, it might be just me not having any strong knowledge of SRPG's, and thus thinking it through the wrong way. Again, I want to emphasize that I didn't find it bad, just odd.
It's a different kind of collaboration/crossover. The same kind of rules weren't set in place of NxC or Cross Edge or any of the fighting game crossovers (MvC, CvS, TvC), so a lack of consistency in how pairs of characters are/are not arranged should be expected by this point.
Shinobi'd.

I wouldn't be surprised though if you're eventually allowed to arrange the teams however you want. Also, if the SRW character[s] are in their mecha, that might be why they're alone.
I'm wondering whether characters can attack on their own, but are able to team up with a specific partner, or if they're just a team.
This is the study I'm aware of. (The link's a PDF.)
Two points I'd like to make:
1) Some studies suggest that pessimists and depressed people can make more accurate assessments of their life chances in certain situations, but this does not mean that a pessimistic assessment of a situation is automatically more accurate.
2) The ability to predict whether or not you will be able to do something has absolutely nothing to do with your ability to predict whether or not a game will be good based on its basic premise, a few screens and an incomplete character list.
