So yeah, by the new rule for subpage-bearing pages, this image isn't supposed to be on the main trope page. If we're to go ahead on that rule, may as well move that image to the video game section.

Anyway, I already have a suggestion for the film section:

I dunno, PT is hardly a hero and the pics are a bit difficult to see what's going on (I wouldn't know unless I already knew the film).

So, should we take the liberty of making the move?

I have a feeling the Mickey pic was hard in enough to find/make on its own. Before we move it, it might be a good idea to see if we can even find 2 or 3 category-specific pictures to use instead of it.

Better to have a picture on the main page and none on the category pages than to only have a picture for one of about a dozen categories.

Personally I agree, but I'm not sure if the rule carves out exceptions for such reasons.

"Well, we don't have to worry about the popularity of the popular tropes. They are already popular. We want medium-agnostic main pages for these because we do not want to signal that they are about one medium or another.

For instance, when some non-anime fans come into an article and the first thing they see is an anime picture, they figure it is about anime, and mash the random button again. If we leave the words there to make the initial impression, that wrong first impression doesn't get made."

Hmm, nope, he didn't give any exceptions.

Personally, I'd argue that the Mickey image comes close to being "medium agnostic" since it's hard to even tell that it's a video-game, and it probably gets bonus points for not being from an anime, but if we want to follow his exact words, the image should be moved.
