Yes, the Film, Series, and Comic Book icons work fine.
I thought about something else that could work yesterday: mecha. Here's some sprites of Gundam heads...any of these work as good or better than the faces/eyes?
I think the Japanese flag variant is still best.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Anime=/=Japan. Also, that particular variation was used to represent their imperial navi. Even other flags of similar design are all military, like the imperial army and the defense force flags. Hardly related to anime at all.
I don't fell a mecha is the best thing to represent anime. Also, I personally, I dislike square icons. They feel incomplete. Though I guess it wouldn't be too hard to take out the colored background.
Obviously. But anime = Japanese movie and television animation. I said it's the best one suggested, not that it's theoretically ideal.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Since we've got the mass thread for the icon project, I'm gonna lock this thread. All the suggestions are posted in the project thread.
I don't know. Can you see it on, say, Film.Bob Dylan?
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.
