Hi folks! I'm thinking of starting a Superdraft thread in the Forum Games board, and I wanted a little feedback first.

What is a Superdraft? Well, it's a little bit like Fantasy Football, but shorter term and entirely for fun. The thread starter announces a theme, such as Teen Champions (teenage heroes) or Avengers International (Marvel characters only). The participants then create rosters one choice a day for the 10-12 slots available to them. Art and fiction related to your team is voluntary but appreciated. At the end, we compare rosters and vote on our favorites.

Generally, the first slot on your roster is a location, then six or seven slots for your main cast, one or two villains/opponents, and maybe some options.

Most Superdrafts are fictional characters only (notable exception: If we do a Riverworld Superdraft your roster will be real dead people.)

Further rules are by theme.

So, anyone interested in this sort of thing, and what sort of themes would you like to see? Some seen on other boards include:

Teen Champions (young heroes) Avengers International (Marvel characters only) Justice League International Done Right (DC characters only) Space Opera (SF characters only)

I'm interested. We must do a Riverworld superdraft.

More general stuff—

Exclusivity: For most of the drafts, only one player can select each character. This is usually based on "civilian name" if known. For example, if Alice picks Captain America (Bucky Barnes), Bob cannot pick Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) but could pick Captain America (Steve Rogers.)

This can lead to your planned picks being sniped (someone else picks them before you do) or ninja'd (someone else posts with your planned pick while you are writing your post.) Thus it's smart to have a couple of backup picks for all your team slots, or to be good at Xanatos Speed Chess.
